Now I am totally confused... Just spoke to a person at the uscis... She says that indeed our files ARE sent to our local office and nor St. Albans. She has seen this before with I 129 f and 130

she suggest calling you local office ....

Does USCIS publish local office numbers? I've never been able to find any number besides the main 1-800 customer service number. Do you know where to find the local office numbers?

I just made an appointment info pass in Hartford ct... I am getting to the bottom of this. If they don't have my case... As the uscis rep says they do ... Then I can call them again and tell them it must be in St. Albans because Hartford doesn't have it.... Friday I will know ... Meanwhile ... Waiting on th political types to get back to me .....

My congressman emailed me and said my file is still in transit to Texas!!! The uscis rep says my petition is on its way to my local office in Hartford

Who do I believe ?????

Congressman Wilson's representative got back to us today and said she became aware of this issue on Tuesday when dealing with someone else's case, and she has now left a voice mail and e-mailed the congressional liaison for USCIS at Washington D.C to get some more answers and an estimated approval timeframe for our petition. My fella is replying now informing her of these other "Local Field Office" updates yesterday.

Did you get any clarification from your congress person...

From congressman s John Lawson's office dated May 30th

Angelina,

Your case is in transit to the Texas Service Center. I am waiting to hear what the process will be for adjudicating the cases that were transferred from Vermont. It is not with any local office.

I understand that you have been in touch with Senator Blumenthals office as well.

As soon as I have more information I will contact you.

This happened to a group of 30,000 filers in 2010, of which I was one. I filed an I-130 and most posters to this thread are I-129f filers, but the transfer issue is still the same. Your petitions are not being sent to various local offices around the US. Your energy will be wasted trying to contact local offices. Better yet is to put in a service request if you are eligible and keep hounding your representative/senator. Best of luck!

Wow! 30,000? That's a lot. Luckily, as of the end of March, VSC only had 14,000 pending I-129F cases. Based on VJ users, this transfer looks like it is confied to December and January filers, of which VSC has about 3250.

With only 3250 to process you should be approved soon!

Can I get more info in puting Service Request? What you do to get it, how its done, what to expect etc.? I would like to put one.

I believe you can put in a service request if it's been more than 6 months since your NOA1 date. Call 800-375-5283 and get to a Tier 2 person. Tell them you are outside of normal processing times. This is what I did and my file was touched in about one week.

Is the e-request on "my case status" the same service request than calling the USCIS?
