When I called the service ppl and talked them into letting me take it in to microcenter (he mentioned if it wasn't really their problem I'd have to pay)

Doesn't that make you so mad????!!!!! :ranting:

You end up paying for them to tell you that they can't fix your problem and you'll have to pay someone else to do it. What a ripoff. They should diagnose problems for free! Grrr...

I think he just really doesn't like cranberry sauce (at least I hope!) He said it's "really disgusting". He said he always tells me when I cook delicious food, so he had to also tell me when I made something "really disgusting".

Maybe he'd like the cranberry relish that I bought in a jar, LOL!!! It tasted quite good on a biscuit this morning!

I also have some cranberry chutney that I bought, but I haven't tried yet . . . maybe today will be the day to crack open that jar too!

The uncle whose house we're celebrating at today also hates homemade cranberry sauce. They can commiserate! :D

Thanks for the laugh! Between this comment and the burnt turkey joke, Abdel and I laughed so hard my eyes teared up.

I finished the pecan pie, but I think my grandmother must have had an old oven that had a broken thermostat because I cooked it for the time it said, at the temperature it said, and it's still wiggly in the middle. Maybe it will set up in a while when it cools, or maybe I'll have to throw it in for a few more minutes.

The cornbread is in the oven for the stuffing, and then I have to make the stuffing, fill the bird, and get it in the oven. We're eating our dinner at 6 because I wasn't off yesterday to cook, and because my sister had lunch at her boyfriends familys to go to.

Tomorrow is my mother's birthday, so we're doing her party today along with Thanksgiving dinner. We don't let her cook very much - she can cook more at Christmas. I don't think we even put cranberry anything on our menu. The closest we got is my mom's jello salad which has cranberry orange relish in it.

I'm so full!!! Just fyi, I made 2 dishes that came out really good and were super easy -

Green bean/pecan casserole -

steamed green beans (fresh from the farmer's market)

then sauteed pecans w/ 1/2 stick of butter, pepper, & salt

tossed it all together and ran it in the oven for a short time to heat it up for serving

everyone said it was really tasty!

the other was a sweet potatoe/yam thingie I made. I cooked sweet potatoes last nite, then peeled them this morning and mashed them in a pot w/ a stick of butter and some half & half  added some cinnamon, ginger and piled it all in a casserole dish. then i sauteed pecans w/ some butter, cinnamon, & ginger and put them on top of the mashed yams and baked it just enough to heat it all thru again.... super yummy w/o being overly sweet.

That sounds really yummy Noura. :)

I'm afraid I'd gain ten pounds though with all the butter. :D

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.
