Successful Early Biometrics! AP question?

We received my husband's Biometrics appointment letter, and decided to give it a shot to try and go early. We arrived at the Milwaukee office after lunch today, and after convincing the security bull dog that we would be unable to keep the later appointment, he let us through no problem.

All in all, we were in and out within an hour! smile.png

Next, we are still waiting on any news about his AP. We received NOA1 on the 16th for all of his forms, including I-131. We are May filers (after having to resend the AOS that was originally from April wacko.png ). Since his Biometrics is done early, is there any chance that his AP and EAD will be approved soon? He will have to go out of the country at the end of July, and we are praying that the AP is approved and sent soon.

From reading others' timelines and a little research, it seems like the AP will take about 3-5 weeks from the time the biometrics are done. Is this about accurate?

We filed to the Chicago lockbox, and I believe our AOS was sent to Vermont, if that helps at all.

Early biometrics doesn't speed up your case. You have at least 2 months to go before your EAD/AP is approved.

i dont know if this would help u. i did my walk in on 5/14/2013 and i just got an alert yesterday 05/28/2013 that am on testing and interview. so hopefully i should get an interview date within 10 days. may b u can give it 14 to 16 days to be on testing and interviewing. as per the ead, i would say may b 6 to 8 weeks to go. i think the walkin might have helped me.

If you have proof of your trip, you should be able to do like a service request. I'm not sure. My local office is Milwaukee and I got my EAD almost 2 months after biometric..

Would that be an infopass appointment?

We do have proof of the trip; it's for an internship and we have bought the tickets already. Would a letter from the company and his tickets suffice?

Yeah. That's good enough reason. Just call the 1-800 number and put in a request to expedite the AP document. They might ask you to submit proof of the trip but It's worth a try, in my opinion.

Thank you! I will do so first thing tomorrow. It's certainly worth a try, considering the alternatives.

I'll update here with the results of tomorrow's phone call.

The will not expedite your AP request for a holiday. You're setting yourself up for disappointment.

How is an internship overseas a holiday?
