So, I got my case number and already scheduled an appointment for the medical exam because according to somewhere and someone I could do that right when I have the case number as we are expediting.
Now I'm about to mail out the DS-230 form in a few days and wanted to mail it with the DS-2001 because I thought that is all I need to mail with a cover letter. Do I mail another copy of my passport?
We have all the other documents needed, expept the husband is filling out the Affidavit and hasn't done that yet.
Is there anything else I need to mail, like the Affidavit etc or do I take that to the interview? And what is the right form for the Affidavit? I read somewhere else the Military is filling out the I-864EZ and the W2 & 1040 forms from the IRS. Is that right.

It says on the Embassy website for Step Three that I should schedule a medical exam so the one I have is too early because I haven't mailed out the DS-230 and DS-2001? Can I even have the medical already done?

It also says on their website:" All applicable documents are required on the day of the interview. So please be sure to read all of the information. " So I guess all the other papers and again the Affidavit I take for the interview?
I am so confused with everything at this moment :(

Since you are DCF, you are a lot like a K1 for this part because you skip NVC. Your forms are different.

Are you reading this page? http://london.usembassy.gov/ds2001.html

Here's my order. Maybe plainer talk--

1. Mail the DS-230, Part 1. Part 2 goes to your interview and is signed in front of the officer. If you have all the documents in hand (you don't yet) then you can mail the Ds-2001 with it. It's the form that says "I am totally ready to interview so call me in for tomorrow and I'm prepared."

2. Get your medical arranged. They will want to see your police certificate and immunization records.

3. When you get that I-864, then let them know you are ready now by mailing the DS-2001. They want you to include a cover letter or even just a statement that has your email address, the date you need to travel, and the date of your medical exam. That info helps them plan who needs the soonest interview. And they could email you with a very soon interview if you mention the reason for expedite. That's why you want to have everything in hand before you say "I'm ready!"

Don't worry much about having the medical too early. Kinda out of order but they won't kill you over it. Do not mail anything in but DS forms. Don't even put photos on the form. (Can't remember if the 230 even has a photo place). Take all the documents, affidavit of support, passport photos to the interview. Take photocopies of any document you want back.

Affidavit of Support I-864. The EZ version is okay if you fit the qualifications. Read the instruction page. It has nothing to do with the military.

Supporting documentation:

1) 2012 tax return- that would be 1040 and maybe any schedules like Schedule A, B, D.

A tax return can be two pages or a lot depending on your income. AND the W2 goes with it.

2) Then something else for good measure. I don't know military, but it would be like an employer letter---something that might list his rank and pay, or maybe a commanding officer could provide the same info. Or maybe he has something like pay slips that shows his earnings each month. Provide six. Again, I don't know what military people get but ask him what he has along that order.
