Packet 3 , DS-230 quick question

 Share

--->First off, I did receive the sheet stating that the DS-156 is required in an electronically-completed format.

read on my sheet

This new electronic format does not apply to Form DS-230.

Ok now what if the DS-230 copy they sent me is really shitty looking, would they deny that form if I would fill it from their USCIS forms webpage and print it ? Or does it have to be filled by hand ? Many answer boxes are filled with that dark grey square that would make it harder to read.

--->Second, question 16

Its asking for my father's address. I havent talk to him in about 9 years and he hasnt called me back to give me any news either. Is it really a needed information ? I have no clue on where he lives, neither what his phone number is. I could probably get it by asking to a family member that would ask someone else that would ask that guy...etc So kind of a long chain and also a pain in the....

Suggestion? Anyone filled this with a unknown address before?

thanks

Yes you can use the PDF DS-230 on line, Just dont fill the lines on part II below the line that states dont write below this line.

My fiance just went back as far as college, unless you attended trade schools.

Also another online form you will fill out and bring to the interview is DS-156 this one do on the web page, it will generate a unique bar code using the data that you enter.

https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp

Good luck with all the paperwork

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

piece of advise for Montreal i had seen a thread which said they are picky about the forms youfill in apart from which they supply so be safe

i know they look pretty slobby and copied from 1970's

About address you need to fill in or would be incomplete & not accepted

I finally got through and with a phone number and Canada 411 I have an address...but its not even the right name. My brother said my dad has not moved so since the phone number and street are matching, Its prolly maiden name of his GF...

But just as a curiousity....what if you dont know where one of your parent is because of a broken family where people are not talking to each other for many years......I cant assume they would not accept the form if you just write "unkown". I mean its the case for many people. Im not the only one out there.

If you don't know the address, then unknown would have to be the correct answer. I'm sure there must be other people out there that are estranged from a parent. I can't see how there would be any problem with it, but that's just my opinion :)

I asked the consulate in Rio a similar question. I don't know if the consulate works the same in Canada but you could call and ask.

My fiance does not know his father and I verified that I should put UNKNOWN because I can't write N/A because obviously he has one.

Good luck.
