The one problem I have seen with LCD is that the screen can appear dark when watching certain films that have darker lighting or if you are sitting at an angle to the TV screen

I don't suggest Panasonic brand for audio/video (TV in particular). They have problem in colors and the quality is not that great even in celphones. Panasonic is very good only in Home appliance and office equipments. Trust me, I'm employed in that company for years.

Why dont you try Sony or Samsung?

LCD = you dont want plasma you have to replace the plasma every 5 yrs LCD TV is the best

I've had my 42 inch Panasonic Plasma tv for four years now and it is still going strong...Panasonic makes a great plasma. My next TV will be an LCD...either Samsung, LG or Panasonic. To me, those are the best brands in LCD. I did a lot of research before I purchased my plasma and it paid off...do your homework. Generally, plasmas are cheaper than LCD, inch for inch. Both can be great purchases.

I did one of those mystery shopper jobs last yr. One job took place at avery high end TV store, all they sold were LCD, Plasma TV's and surround sound systems. Good and bad to both LCD & Plasma, but the salesman recommended a LCD over a Plasma, much better value!! Lots of good internet sites that display the pro's and negaitves of each. Once you find a certain model, sometimes a good site is http://www0.epinions.com/

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

One thing to note about plasma television sets is that they (in general) have shorter lifespans and if you watch a lot of channels that have logos on them (and many do), the logo can eventually become permanently "burned" into the screen. LCD, on the other hand, has a longer lifespan and burn-in isn't a problem.

So why not go with LCD? Well, I'd say nine times out of ten, LCD screens will be smaller than plasma. So if you want a really big television, plasma is sometimes the only way to go.

I went to buy one myself. The manager of the store was a friend of mine and he would not sell a plasm to me. He told me they were good for only about 5000 hours which is about three years according to him.

I bought a 37 inch LCD from Costco instead. Vizio, it works bueatifully

I love my Samsung LCD.

Another suggestion.... yes, we all hate the Evil Empire, but Wal-Mart's house brand - Ilo - has an amazingly good picture. (I suspect that they use Samsung LCDs)

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
