A little background info:

She's a Colombian national with Spanish Permanent Residency since age 14 (she's 26)

I just tried to do the early check in for her using Delta's iPhone app. I made it through the process, but when I went to finalize it, it said, "Sorry we can't do early check in for those using the Visa Waiver program (ETSA)"...or something to that effect. Then it asks if I want to set do the ETSA now...

She won't need to do that correct? She just needs to show up as normal, present her passport and show the page with her Visa on it? Or do we need to do something before that?? She didn't mention any special instructions to me.

Can anyone coming from Europe confirm this? Thanks

oops, sorry for posting 2x...

But one more question...my fiancee's return ticket is for June 16th I think. Obviously she isn't going to use it, but that was the cheapest ticket I could find by using those dates. Our wedding is July 14 so clearly she isn't going to return on that date. Will this be a problem? Will they ask? And if they do, there's nothing wrong with that is there? She'd just tell them she has zero intentions of using that return ticket?

Thanks again

if asked at the CBP desk - she can tell the truth !!!

reminder - the truth -> It was the cheapest price found that day for the ticket

re: preflight check in - I suggest not do it, as she's travelling through using the K-1 visa, not the VWP. The Airlines 'app' not handle that, K-1 visa stuff, at all.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Just be certain to cancel the return leg of the ticket with the airline and get a cancellation number you keep for your records. This is just encase the airline sells the seat but forgets to remove her name from the passenger list. The USCIS will say she left the US before getting married or having AP and YOU will have to prove that she did not leave the US. Try proving that when the only way to prove it is with documentation, but you do not have any.

I just added my wife's information under traveller information under her name. Of course she is from a country that does not have the VWP, but I think there should be a way to add her passport information and then add her visa information. Not all people from a VWP country can use the VWP or are using the VWP so there should be a way to add this information. If all else fails you can call Delta and see if a human can help.

Good luck,

Dave

there's side effects of having a return trip.

USCIS gets a data feed from the airlines about passengers and tickets, and cross-references all on some batch process.

So, sometime after she hits dirt in USA, is best to cancel the return leg of the flight - if'n you are lucky, is possible to get some partial refund.

No i won't get a refund but I don't care. I'l call and cancel the return flight on the way home with her in the car with me! I'm just making sure she has no issues at the POE that's all.

So just to clarify...I don't need to contact the ETSA or do anything out of the ordinary? She will go to the airport, check in, and go through security as any normal traveler would at the airport of departure? She'll just show her passport with the visa page?

So just to clarify..1. .I don't need to contact the ETSA or do anything out of the ordinary?

2. She will go to the airport, check in, and go through security as any normal traveler would at the airport of departure?

3. She'll just show her passport with the visa page?

1. NO.

2. YES

3. Make certain the airport folks see the k-1 visa, else they will assume 'yet another VWP travel' when boarding, and that is troublesome at the POE.
