Affidavit of support for US fiancé abroad...

Hi guys

So we finally got our NOA2 (yay!) and I am looking ahead to finances.

I am the US petitioner, but my fiancé and I both live and work in Scotland (I have done so for a decades now).

The way I understand it, I cannot financially sponsor him if I don't meet the domicile requirements regardless of my foreign income (which is rather moot anyway since I won't have this job when we go back). That means I need a domestic co- sponsor, and then we both fill in the financial forms, right?

Terrible as it is to need my parents to underwrite us, they have agreed. I just need to figure out exactly what to send them and what sort of evidence they have to gather.

Also, I have been self employed here in the UK for the last three years, so any advice on remotely filing this info from previous folk would be really helpful too- I have HMRC tax returns and things, but figure I'll also need to declare my assets etc as we begin to move our finances over.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Oh wait, I remember now. Direct Consular Filing. (Could the world have any more acronyms? :) )

At the time DCF wasn't going to work for us for stupid reason I don't need to get into, but we are now almost to interview stage so it seems pointless to try and swap. Just want to get through this as simply as possible so any info on surviving K1 would be very helpful.
