Hoping someone that has done this within the last few months will reply.

How did you all reserve flights for your fiancé to come to the US?

What info did you need about your significant others for reserve the flights and did you have to send her anything to get them through the airport?

I read somewhere that someone had to send is fiancé a photo copy of his DL and credit card that he used to reserve the flight with.

I have not done so yet, but was planning on doing it via the internet.

Was wondering myself upon arriving if we could both process through customs/immigrations together. Since they have separate lines for non-citizen and citizen???

I was with my fiancée when we flew back, but I have read many times that its a good idea to send your fiancee a copy of your DL and CC that was used to purchase the ticket. I have also read that if you go out to the airport that you can show them the CC so that when she does get to the airport its already in the computer.

When I scheduled the flights I ended up having to call the airline as I couldn't complete her one-way along with my round trip at the same time.

When we came back I went through the same line as my fiancée. There is a special line for those processing through on an immigrant visa (K-1 is looked at that way), there was an immigration agent at the entrance to the room as we entered that directed us to the correct window.

I used cheapoair.com and had no issues. I just booked her via internet. I even called them to ask questions about her transiting through China. No worries. She even missed her connection at Ohare (do yourself a favor and avoid POE at OHare) and American Airlines re-booked her on United. All in all both airlines did great as she was just 3 hours later than expected. She flew PAL from Manila to China. I did send her a copy of my CCard with all the numbers blackened out with a sharpie except last 4 of which is all they need to verify. I also sent a copy of my DL's with some of the items blackened out on this too. She had no issues and was never asked for the copies. I hear it is luck of the draw with PAL though as it depends on who is checking you in.

I hope this helps

Have them price tickets on their end and send them the money. whole lot less hassle . They can often find jsut as good or better deals.

The best flight for Michelle was on Korean Air...and they don't allow tickets for flights originating in the Philippines to be purchased outside of the Philippines. So, I just sent her the money, she went to a travel agent next to the hotel she was staying at during her CFO, and she's presently about midway between Mactan and Incheon.

20 hours plus whatever customs takes to go!

Why avoid POE at Ohare?

Louis,

My fiancé and her son are going to have their interview on 4 June too. I think OHare is slow and thus making connecting flights could be iffy if you don't leave a good amount of layover time. That doesn't matter to me since I am driving up there to pick them up. Cheaper than flying them all the way into Indianapolis.

That is the route I went and it was so easy. Some here have bought tickets, but you have to jump thru all kinds of hoops to do it.

we always fly the Mactan-Korea-Atl route. Fastest

Korean Air is now part of the Oneworld so you can simply book through American Airlines. All you need to give them is name & DOB. No need to give them copies of anything as the ticket is under her name. If you call AA direct, you can choose flights from the Philippines through Korean Air, Japan Air, or Cathay Pacific. These codeshare flights will get you AAdvantage miles if that's of interest to you.

I cannot speak to Star Alliance as I'm a Oneworld member.
