Why dont you just leave and forget about the citizenship?! That is not important compared to your children well being.

you could certainly move out, file for divorce, get a job,

then at the 5 year mark file for citizenship

and then get back to Somalia after you receive USCitizenship and passport

... That's certainly one path available to you, right now.

Well get your evidence for bona fide marriage and divorce, what are you worried about your marriage or the green card, sounds like the green card though sad.png

She's got two very young USC children. I'd be worried about maintaining status and getting citizenship too under similar circumstances.

Darnell's advice in post no. 4 is dead on.

eh - she already has her 10 year card, so if she divorces now, not need to show that evidence at the 5 year USCitizen interview.

That's the path. Leave, divorce, wait for the 5 years, and then apply.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Having two small children and no money is never a good feeling. He is the father of those children therefore he is financially responsible for them. You should contact an attorney and explain your issues. If your husband is serious about divorce most states will help you apply for child support and possibly alimony if he has been supporting you. You have gotten some other good advice. Your conditions are removed and you have your 10 year green card. Try to get in touch with your religious originazations and see if they can offer you any assistance. Good luck.

I'm assuming the children are from your marriage and USC. You can't just leave the country with your babies, because they are his also. Only if he consents to it, can you leave the country with them. As dependent children, the courts will award some type of child support for them. You can possibly get spousal support to, but most states are moving towards temporary spousal support until a non-working spouse can get on their feet. Stay, look for work, go through the divorce, and build a life up here for you and your children. It won't be easy, but with determination you should be able to make it. It you leave without your kids, how will you ever make it back to be in their life with no support structure left in the USA? While you're here, you have a chance to build up something. A woman's shelter or religious group may be able to take you in and help you start to rebuild your life. They can also probably help you in getting a free lawyer to learn your rights in the situation you find yourself in.
