My K1 was finally received by NVC and a case number had been given to it when I called about it May 20th. They received it May 18th. So it's been a full week. When can I go online to schedule the k1 interview in Lagos? Do I wait until my case is physically mailed to them? Do I call NVC to find out if its been mailed and then wait some more for it to arrive? I know that K1's fee is now paid at the interview and not prior to making the appointment. I'm just wondering what the timeline is now for all these things to transpire. I can't explain to all of you how excited and also nervous we are at this point. All the waiting and preparing and twists and turns in now coming to this..... the interview. Oh the anticipation of those results!

"*****Thanks to samename for getting this info together. We need this pinned for Nigerian forum since its new.******

After you have the LGS number email LagosIV@state.gov and give them your details along with this LGS number .They will give you your next steps on how to schedule the interview online.

They should send you details about paying your visa fee to GT Bank. you will print that email sent and take it the bank along with you LGS number. The receipt that your fiance gets from paying will be used to schedule your appointment online. In the email that Lagos will send you will be packet 3 documents. If you want you can get those forms ahead of time at http://travel.state....forms_1342.html . Just read our embassy info guide and it will tell you what forms are needed."

It's a beautiful feeling.

For me as a USC I at least know what's going on and can follow stuff, for my poor Wife she just has to trust me about the process.

Congrats and good luck.

Also, be aware it may take a week or two to get in the lagos system after your case is sent to them via NVC .Email Lagos weekly after your case has been sent .

It took almost 2 weeks for me to get a reply saying it was there. Good luck !!!!!!!

Dear Ms. ,

The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos is ready to begin final processing of your approved K1 visa petition. Kindly request your fiancé/fiancée (the applicant) to visit any branch of Guaranty Trust Bank PLC in Nigeria to pay the K1 visa processing fee of $240.

With the payment receipt number, the applicant can visit our website at http://www.ustraveldocs.com to schedule a K1 visa interview appointment under the Immigrant Visa (IV) category. The applicant must print the interview appointment confirmation, which should be presented upon arrival at the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos on the appointment/interview date.

Also, the attached interview instruction packet has to be printed and the immigration Form DS-156 fully completed by the applicant prior to the interview. Additionally, the applicant should visit any of the medical facilities indicated on page three of the attached medical examination instructions and complete the medical examination.

Please note that NO APPLICANT WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE CONSULATE VISA HALL WITHOUT A VALID MEDICAL EXAMINATION REPORT AND A DULY COMPLETED FORM DS-156 NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION FORM.

If you are having problems accessing or using the online appointment system (http://www.ustraveldocs.com), please contact:support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com or +234-9-460-1748.

Thank you. But I did hear that k1 does not pay until the interview day and I'm not sure if the info has been updated. But I will try to search the threads regarding this change.

Hi,

Yea they used to but there is a new process. When they email you they will tell you to go GTB bank and make a payment if you look at a thread I posted maybe 2 months ago you'll find the language in the email they sent me. My fiancé has already paid and we scheduled our interview.

Love Love Love
