F1 visa on AP

Hello guys!

after my visa interview, the consular gave me a yellow sheet with a case number written on it.

She said nothing except for a small paragraph on the sheet she marked it herself! the paragraph says something like: that my visa went for AP and it might take between 2-10 working weeks, in meantime I may check the website for updates.

any hints on how or when they going to contact me? it is been 5 weeks now, should I be worry about getting my approval on time?

I Applied from Dubai with my Syrian passport.

AP for many cultures will likely take a lot of time.

You do not see many Syrians here get passed the Visa approval stage.

AP is a background check, how they could do that I have no idea.

Carie, Sorry for not including that in my post's subject. F1 visa is a student visa you apply for in order to enter the states to study.
