Medical in another country - possible or not?

Good morning,

I have a question regarding medicals.

Our applications have just been approved for expedites by the Paris Embassy and are on their way there via DHL from the NVC.

As far as I understand, because the Embassy approved our expedite, this means that we could potentially be given 24 hours notice to go for the interviews.

However, we still have to get our medicals done. I know we are up-to-date with our vaccinations as I checked this with my local doctor.

There are only 2 approved physicians who are based in Paris.

Paris is a 6-hour drive as we live literally 2 miles away from the Swiss border.

Now, I know that we have to attend the interview in Paris. However, can we attend our medicals in Switzerland?

I've checked the info for Switzerland and there are 4 physicians (spreadout over the country - much more logical if you ask me!) of which one is 30 mins away from where we are...

Has anyone heard or had a medical with an approved physician based in another country?

05/24/2013 applications received by email

05/2/2013 paper applications received

05/30/2013 moved from 'in transit' to 'ready' on DOS

06/03/2013 email received for medical and interview

06/21/2013 medical

06/26/2013 interview - APPROVED!!!!

Sorry to hear about your financila difficulty. Ye my wife is in hiding from her cousin who raised her. This cousion has threatened to kill my wife becasue she is so jealous. But threats like this do not qualify for expedite.....go figure. Good luck with your situation. I will be parying for you both. Aloha and Mahalo, Aloha Ke Akua
