I just talked to the NVC, they said the information was sent to the Consulate in Lima, Peru Nov. 3 2006. My wife has not heard anything, does anyone know how long it should take? I have not called them yet, because it is a pain to call the right office, at the right time, on the right day of the week, and talk to someone. I tried this in April when I was there.

I think she will be getting the packets next week because of the holidays, the peruvian embassy closes for thanksgiving. Wait until next week and if she doesnt get anything, she will have to call to find out about the delay. If you have more questions, you can contact me. Good luck in the rest of you process

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I will be talking to my wife a little later, and I will tell her. You know how this waiting game is, I have been wanting to go back to Lima, but I was waiting to see if they would want any more information from me, and now I still don't know. I had to come to the U.S. to get everything together for the I-130, and I-129F. If it is going to be 2 or 3 more months, I will go to Lima so we can be together for Christmas, and her birthday. When I go, I want to stay for a while, I love Lima, and the area.

The NVC forwarded our petition on Nov 3rd, and they got it on Nov 6th. Nothing from them as of today.

The only suggestion I can make is to call the Embassy. I know what a hassle it is to try to get through between 2 and 3, but it's the only way to find out what's going on.

From my experience, they are usually very helpful.

I called today, they told me the lady that takes care of appointment dates was out of the office this week sick. My wife should be getting her package next week.

She should go ahead and get all 3 of her police certificates, plus her birth certificate, ready. It takes a couple of weeks to get those documents together.

But perhaps, she had already done this.... :star:
