Paying fees for I-130 and I-485

Ok, so I know that the fee for the I-130 is $420 and the I-485 is $1070, but do I make separate checks or just one check for both?

Can I use a cashier's check? Or does it have to be a personal check?

Together or separate; either is fine.

Either check type is okay too, but with a personal check you can see when it was cashed - you know if your package was accepted sooner that way.

Sometimes the letter that says they accepted it for initial review takes a month to come.

I've read that it's better to send separate checks. Simply for the reason that if one part of your aos is wrong they dont have to wait for the whole thing or something?

So hypothetically speaking something is wrong with the I130 but if you have separate checks and the I485 is all in place they can continue with that while waiting for 130 evidence... or something?

They can accept the I-130 if something is wrong with the I-485.

They cannot accept the I-485 if something is wrong with the I-130.

But getting one accepted earlier doesn't make it faster, so I don't think there is any benefit to that. I also did separate checks, but that was to just keep it simple and copy the amounts from the instructions.
