These are just my thoughts on the TB case.

1. If you have scarring on your lungs that will be said as suspicious. You can get scarring with any disease such as Pneumonia or Talcosis (those powders with over amount of talc) so they will conduct the sputum test which is the "golden standard test" They will not know you have TB just with an X-ray.

2. If you get an x-ray prior to your medical and show it to them in can appear as a good thing and a bad thing. Good thing because you will know if you have any scarring at an early stage and can seek immediate help and lessen the months of wait as you will be given a treatment sheet or a medical certificate that you are undergoing or have undergone TB treatment had you been found positive. Less time so that is good! good.gif BAD thing because it will make people in St. Luke's think "why did this person have an x-ray? Could it be that they have had symptoms of TB or some respiratory disease? Maybe I should take more care and scrutiny with this case just to be sure."

3. St. Luke's will look at all the X-ray that you will bring but will not base their findings in that. Your x-ray today can show something different tomorrow.

4. You can take the St. Luke's x-ray at any branch but then they will still require you to have an x-ray in SLEC. If you think of it, can make people paranoid that they will pay St. Luke's twice. One for the independent x-ray then the second for SLEC. Just my thought :P

5. You can take an early X-ray at any hospital with the thought in mind that you want to know if you need treatment and not because you think St. Luke's will exempt you just because your x-ray 3 months ago showed negative. Their x-ray is mandatory.

6. I can agree with the idea that this can be a form of extortion by St. Luke's. I mean we can't read x-ray and they just tell us that we have a suspicious x-ray but I will trust the Hippocratic oath of doctors that they will take care of their patients or clients. Best answer honestly so you save yourself from any further problems because of the disease and also help prevent the spread of the disease.

7. Lastly, I know patience is a virtue but waiting sucks! Haha! However, I leave this verse for us to think of something and keep us going even if we hit that wall during the medical. "A wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgement" It is an excerpt from one of my most favorite verses in the Bible. Ecc 8:5

Let's do our best with what we are given :) It is time and it will pass. Till we are together with our loved ones let us keep ourselves alive and in love ;)
