The DS-3032 Choice of Agent is completed and signed by the beneficiary not the USC petitioner.

What is the above, please can someone explain this for me as I've only just started seeing questions about it.

This will be the first form sent (although you can email it and save yourself some time iusing James' Shortcuts) after your file has been received by NVC. It appoints you as your spouse's agent so that you will receive future mailings (forms) on their behalf.

The agent is whoever the beneficiary chooses to act on his/her behalf during the NVC visa process. The agent will be the person to receive all correspondence from the NVC. It can be the beneficiary, a lawyer, the petitioner, or any other other person designated by the beneficiary. The beneficiary fills out this form choosing his/her agent, hence "choice of agent". As you have already seen here, the beneficiary can also email the choice of agent to NVC. good luck

btw, here is a copy of the email we used for choice of agent

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is XXX. My date of birth is MMM DD, YYYY. The case number assigned by the NVC is: XXX##########.

I want to appoint my husband, the petitioner as my choice of agent. All future correspondence from NVC should be sent to his US address. His name and address are below:
