Hi All!

Just got e mail accepting K1 petition...but i have a question for everyone...

I did not realize we had to send divorce decree from all marriages.. I just submitted

the decree from my last marriage but not my first. I thought they just wanted to know i was free to marry.

Can I send them the first marriage divorce document now before I get a RFE for this or do I have to wait

until RFE comes in mail.....ughhhh

Thanks for any replies

The I-129F instructions are pretty clear on page 2, about wanting proper documentation on ALL marriages. I would suggest waiting for the RFE, it is an easy fix. Additionally, if nothing else is found deficient by USCIS a quick response and submission by you will likely not result in too much of a delay.

There have been limited reports of success with sending in supplemental information after the initial submission. However, those are likely the very lucky and the exceptions to the rule. With an RFE you have specific instructions and an RFE letter to enable USCIS to match up your supplemental information with your file. Without a reference point, it is like looking for two needles in a very LARGE haystack.

YMMV.

Good luck.

I would say, and I haven't been married before so doesn't apply to me, if they issue an RFE just wait for it to happen and send it then. I don't believe there is a way to send extra documents with your petition so that they can add it to you folder. I believe they expect you to have done all of that before you sent it. So just wait, and have it ready to send.

You have to wait for Ref before you send it out. If you did not receive any ref before your interview, just go to the interview with them just in case they asked you
