Dear all,

My husband got an email from USCIS telling him that our case has been forwarded to Hawaii local office. Our case was given 28th January as priority date,we got our NOA1 on 4th February and didnt have any progress since then.We noticed other members whose cases had been approved having the same timeline, that were sent to California Service Center.

Kindly advise what's best to do knowing Hawaii processed quite slow from other local offices. The waiting time is leaving us frustrated and giving us big time battling the agony of being away from each other as couple.

Your comments are highly appreciated.

Thank you and God bless.

There is nothing to do but wait. It's interesting that they gave you the notice that the case was transferred to the local office as most people do not receive any notification. At least you know where the case is!

I know the wait is hard.

Hi,

Unfortunately all you can do is wait till you receive the NOA2. In most cases it can take anywhere from 5-7 months from the date of the NOA1. Ours took 7 months, others went faster, others went slower. It's difficult, but the wait is worth it. The good thing is that you know they're processing your case and working on it not just because of the NOA1, but also because they have informed you that they've transferred it. There have been a ton of people getting transfers in the last few weeks, which they say will move things along quicker. Some of the Service Centers were on over load and had huge backlogs, so transferring may mean that they get to your case quicker than if it were still in the previous service center. I don't think it makes a big difference in the Service Center, since they're all working on cases daily, so no worries there. Just remember that this means your case is slowly but surely getting its review over with. :-) Best of luck-

Hi Tomvan,

We forgot to mention that we actually called the USCIS to get the information we did. All we knew was that it

was sent to the NBC. My husband called the USCIS and got the same information we already knew about which was

on the NOA1. He then asked to speak with a tier 2 worker and told not at this time. My husband then asked if he

could at least find out where his case was sent, or if it was still there at the NBC. The gentleman than took

some information such as name, address, email address and case number and said that someone from the USCIS would

contact him within 3 to 5 days. My husband was than given a confirmation number and told that if he did not get

a reply within 5 days to call back with the confirmation number.

We got a reply in 3 days by email and found that

our case was in my husbands backyard. If you still don't know where your case is, please do the same thing my

husband did.

I hope that has been helpful to you or whoever else from the VJ family that needs this information......

Good Luck and God Bless to everyone on this same journey!!
