Hello all,

I was wondering how long it take to get packet from the manila embassy, NVC mailed it may 8th, I have the appointment for June 4th, she just passed her medical, but still nothing from the embassy. The visa status check says it is ready. I am starting to get worried about getting it before the appointment.

I know this is not the answer you are expecting. In fact i'll ask a question and it could be a little bit stupid. How do you know when the NVC have your packet and when they mail it?

Thanks and congrats for your approvalstar_smile.gifstar_smile.gifstar_smile.gif

Do we even need the visa information packet? She has already filled the forms out. We already have our appointment letter.

I don't think you need the packet. Some don't even receive it on time or never receive any from the usem. But who knows you might have it before June 4. Good luck with the interview!!..

The U.S. Embassy Manila sometimes sends the beneficiary a snail mail via PhilPost which informs the beneficiary that they are eligible to schedule an interview. The letter also gives the beneficiary instructions on how to prepare for the interview.

Some beneficiaries receive the letter. Others do not. Don't wait around for it. You don't need it. If you want to read it, you can click here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction_rtf2_005.pdf

By the way, pay no attention to how a U.S. Embassy in any other country does things. Their K-1 process may be much different than the process at the U.S. Embassy Manila.

I know this may not apply to you but I just would like to share anyway. Got an email from USE Nassau and it said "Fiancee Visa Packet". It has the instructions and even my interview date. I assume they won't send me a hard copy anymore. Or if they do, it may not reach me before the interview because it takes a while for snail mail to get to the island. Anyway, God bless you on the interview! smile.png
