Too late... especially because I read

For USPS Express Mail and courier deliveries:

USCIS

Attn: I-129F

2501 South State Highway 121 Business

Suite 400

Lewisville, TX 75067

on the USCIS web site so I thought I would have been ok. What if he gets everything back? Can he just use another envelope, change the address on it, send it to Dallas instead? Would he have to change all the papers in it that have their address on it (cover letter, fiancè intent to marry...)?

FREAKING OUT HERE.

I sent my package express mail just like the instructions state above, as you did as well and it was processed like normal.

The envelope could have been attempted delivery at the wrong address because of USPS error. I've had this happen before myself. In my case the package was rerouted to the correct address.

I'm sure you'll get the details of what really did happen in a couple days.

Good luck and breathe deep...its a long process. :)

We sent our package via USPS priority to Lewisville as well (overlooked the fact that it was only for UPS and Fedex and such), and it was accepted there and signed received by someone, so there might be a problem with USPS delivery system...Don't worry much.

I don't remember getting a message like that , but I did get a message to the effect it wasn't picked up and would be returned if not collected . I paniced and posted (LOL) and was told they all sit in a big bin until they come to collect them . If the address is correct then perhaps its something like that , but can't say for sure other then I experienced a similar message . If you did send it express call the number and they can give you detaied information .

OK...this is not going to be easy but I will try to explain what I think happened. We use hand-held scanners to scan packages and the buttons are fairly small. The numbers on the scanner are laid out similar to the 10 key pad on your keyboard but only in reverse with 1-3 and then 4-6 and 7-9. Each number represents a different scanning event, so when I scan a barcode and hit the enter button a menu will show up on the screen. The button for number 1 is directly above number 4. When I push number 1 the package shows up as delivered, if I push number 4 it will show up as refused. I think that this is likely what happened. If your fiance had made an error on the address and it was undeliverable then it would have been scanned as such...not as refused. You and your fiance can double check the tracking number and if the express mail piece is being returned to you then there will be additional tracking information after the refused scanning event. If, after several days, the last scanning event still shows as refused then it is almost certain that your application was in fact delivered. If you want me help you out any further just message me the express mail tracking number and I will look for you and see what I can find out. Also if your fiance filled out the G-1145 then USCIS will send him an email or text confirming that the application was received, and if he mailed a personal check he can look at his account and see if the check gets cashed. So you have a few different ways to confirm that your application was received without solely relying on the USPS tracking.....but I am sorry that this happened to you and again if you want me to help you out any further please dont hesitate to send me a message smile.png

Though technically, since you used USPS, you should have sent it to Dallas. Lewisville is if you're using a courier such as UPS or FedEx. But I've never seen that be a problem for people before. I made the same mistake and they just forwarded it to Dallas.

That address just states for Express mail(USPS) and commercial courrier which is UPS and Fedex . In the instructions does not say for UPS or Fedex only . Missleading if that is true not to send USPS Express mail . However I can not see USCIS not picking up the package even with the mistake . Unless they are that backlogged to stick to the rules . That is just horrible if they did it for that reason .

Would tracking continue on the package back to the sender ? If it is then the OP should see something on the tracking by tonight or early morning . Or is it completed once it reaches the destination ? Your information sounds in the words of Spock a logical reason giving the correct address being used . That box is for Express mail as well for UPS and Fedex .

My prayers go out for the USCIS to have the package :)

Yes, the tracking will work both ways, if it is being returned. And the address in Lewisville is the correct address for express mail as well as private courier (e.g. Fedex and UPS)

ConGau, thank you for that. I'm truly hoping that's what happened. I'll have Jesse check again tonight maybe (I'm now back home and on slow/mobile Internet....joys of living in the boondocks lol) and see if there's anything...and keep his eyes peeled for everything else. Worse case we'll have to check back in it on Tuesday.

If it was actually refused this am, would it be too soon to expect some sort of return processing on the tracking tonight?

All of you, thank you. I must say, I'm amazed at how many responses and how helpful you all have been :) you all are awesome!!!

I'll have him double and triple check the address and stuff on the label when it gets back.

Frustrating.

If there was nothing wrong with it, they would have accepted it.

Most of the time when something is returned to sender, or rejected, there is something wrong with the package and that's usually the fee. Again, do you know if the check/money order was made out properly?

How can it be the fee when uscis didn't even accept the package

You don't know that. They're a sorting facility. They'll look to make sure if everything's right and if it isn't, they'll reject it and send it back. If everything's okay, they will forward it to the correct service center. You sent it to the correct location, so that can't be why. It's time to start investigating other possible reasons.

actually uscis will accept the package then go thru it and see if everything is correct, if the fee is incorrect then they return it back to the person

So if we sent it to Lewisville with USPS express mail we did the wrong thing? Oh no...

What if we get it back, you'd suggest sending the same stuff to Dallas instead?

Are you sure it can be tracked either way?

i sent mine with usps express to lewisville i did not have the problem

File Form I-129F at the USCIS Dallas Lockbox facility:

For U.S. Postal Service (USPS):

USCIS

P.O. Box 660151

Dallas, TX 75266

Send it here, USPS priority and it will have a tracking number.

this address is when u sending the package regular mail without tracking numberr

As stated here
