Hello!

I'm just curious as to how others on here while away the hours, days, months while waiting for visas to be approved? ClockWatch2.gif

I suppose specifically I am talking about those who are currently separated from their loved one/s like I am ...(if this post therefore requires moving, then my apologies!).

So, what do you do to kill time and enrich your life, so that it doesn't feel like all you are doing is waiting...?! I am saving money as much as possible, but I like to get out and about in London to try and drink in such a great city while I'm still living here. I like taking photos. Also seeing friends, going to the cinema (last seen: Iron Man 3. Next: Star Trek) and watching LOTS of Netflix - new Arrested Development starting soon, whooo! star_smile.gif

The usual pastimes I guess. But interested/nosey as to what others get up to!

It's really hard to be away from my loved one, especially after I've spent some time with him, when I'm back to my country I feel so lonely and helpless.
Anyway, I try to keep myself distracted by watching my favorite series, drawing and I'll learn how to sew hopefully. I guess the trick is to spend as little time as possible being sad or thinking and/ or worrying too much... which isn't exactly something I'm good at. At least we should feel lucky we have technology and, regardless how far away a person is, they're just a click/ text/ call away. :)

Of course I also obsessively check this forum and for news about the USCIS, or ask stuff on here when in doubt, although I learned it would be better not to cause it's anxiety inducing and at times I just need to take a deep breath and think everything will be just fine.

I'm also looking for a job, so that I may be able to save up some money. So far I've only been self employed and the work comes and goes as of late, so I'd like to have a steady income now.

And speaking of Arrested Development I CAN'T WAIT. It's one of the best series ever, really hope the new one won't be a massive letdown.

Arrested Development can't wait , but hope that the time lasp is not too great . Sometimes that may effect the actors , but that was a funny show ! British TV rocks ! America keeps stealing the shows ! OMG i am an Amrican , but I refuse to watch the American Top Gear !

I find it very hard to have a day without thinking of being without my fiancee ! I tell her I will be bald by the time I see her (LOL) I am trying to keep the stress down though ...Some days are good and some are worse :( Almost there and the reward is her the amazing woman I met and will love until the end of time !

God Bless to your journey !

Didn't miss out, definitely not worth your time.

Dare I say it, like a few other UK-to-US adaptations...! tongue.png

I find it amusing that most of the male friends I have in the US are really addicted to it (the UK one). It was never on my radar until they told me how entertaining it was. I guess because I'm not interested in cars I never bothered before, but it's a very fun programme smile.png

My fiancè loves it, and although I couldn't care less for cars, I must admit it's fun and entertaining.

Kinda sucked that the last season just had a few episodes. Would be better to have new ones cause I saw all the other ones at least 5 times each! ahah

The US version is kinda eeeh... which other UK series would you recommend?

It is dreadfully hard at the moment as my Fiance is working extra hours so we can have more money if/when I get a visa so even talking to him has become scarce, I didnt speak to him for 3 days this week as by the time he got home I was in bed and when he got up I was busy with my own matters.... finally got to talk to him this morning but only because I got up at 04.30 to call him before he went to bed -_-

To busy myself though I have 4 children who tend to keep me busy once they are home from school.

You have all my sympathy! I know how it feels so weird and disconnected only going one day without talking, let alone more than that. Sometimes due to our weekend plans Bob and I go without talking from Friday to Sunday and that is rubbish. Even with emails, Facebook and Whatsapp, it's just not the same if you don't hear their voice.

Have you ever seen Sherlock? That's amazing. They are short series, but long episodes and very very good and re-watchable. Life on Mars is a bit more "gritty" and family friendly, although I'm only a few episodes in, it's entertaining enough.

I've also just re-discovered (since my childhood) my love of Doctor Who, if you like that kind of thing ;)

I stumbled across it this month, and was just 'meh...' not the same format, not the same fellas, not the same anything. So I refuse to watch it. Maybe I'm spoiled? I like the original Top Gear - that's just a fun show..

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Sadly, the adaptation of UK shows to a US format is continuing...there's a show coming to Fox called "Us and Them" that's based on "Gavin & Stacey." From viewing the trailer, it doesn't look good at all and I don't see it working. They went with a guy based in NYC and the girl is based in a rural area, I think Pennsylvania. Hardly the same as England vs. Wales!

Needless to say, this is considered sacrilege in our household. We both love G&S and the theme song was played at our wedding.
