yep....got the same thing today....got all excited...then worried not know what it was really saying.....

Funny because VSC shows 5 month avg processing time...and CA is longer...so why would stuff be leaving VSC?

Pointless speculating...I am sure the info on the website is not really up-to-date

Dec 18 filing VSC

waiting for the next exciting alert...! smile.png

When a petition is transferred it is usually transferred to a local office. VSC and CSC have assigned legal jurisdictions. These rumors and pipe dreams of VSC and CSC exchanging work load is funny, it just doesn’t work like that.
Each type of application has its own priority level. K1 petitions are such a small group that we are one of the lower priorities.
What you need to do is get hard proof of how VSC is or is not progressing, not just K1 but all petitions. Then you can present that to senators. Without proof all they will do is have a liaison inquire. The answer is almost always “you’re within the posted processing times”, sometimes they will provide a BS reason for the processing times. They are not technically behind if you are in the posted processing time.
It’s like saying you’re not late on your electric bill until you say you are, and the company cannot complain until you are later then the time that you say. And you also can keep changing what is considered ‘late’.
Over all VSC and CSC are nearly equal when you consider the types of petitions.

Did you read earlier in this topic when a VSC filer said USCIS told them their petition had been sent to CSC? Oh yes, it's hilarious.

Someone else who is a regular on this forum said it and it makes sense considering how far behind CSC was and then miraculously got faster. I think there may have been a news post on the USCIS website or something.

I've seen it posted here and tried to explain to people that it is absolutely not true. CSC did transfer files, but they were DACA cases which were transferred to Texas, NOT I-129F cases to Vermont.

It looks like Vermont is likely backlogged with a different type of visa, possibly the flood of employment based visas recently or another type that they need to prioritize. Seems that quite a few I-129F cases from VJ have been suddenly shifted to another Service Center. Unless they post it on the site, we'll have to wait until someone gets a hard copy notice in the mail to find out which one.

Also, just an FYI, here's the link to where CSC transferred files awhile back....

Hopefully the transfer of files will get all your cases adjudicated sooner than they otherwise would have. Best of luck to all filers

Cool. As I said before, I'm just glad something is being done about the backlog problem and both centers are taking appropriate action to resolve the processing time issues.

Funny how I was happy to be at VSC in the beginning and now it's a pain in the rear. You never know with their wishy washy processing rates.

Also, Alaska to the UK? Lordy. That must be one helluva long flight, and here I thought 10 hours from Houston was bad!

Yes, it is quite the long haul. The shortest regular route is about 15 hours and that's with just one stop in Seattle, but it's also the most expensive. The more reasonably priced routes I can usually find around 17-18 hours long with 1 stop. I have yet to have to book anything longer than 19 hours thankfully. Luckily though, Icelandair started seasonal service from Anchorage, so I am going in July and the flight time is just over 12 hours one way and just under 12 the other direction. That's including the stop in Iceland, so that's not too bad at all.

And about the processing, yes, I think it's destined that everyone will have times they wish they were at the other service center. It's really a lot of luck to get into the service center that is processing quickly and stays that way throughout the process. Hopefully they get this straightened out soon and both get within the goal and everyone gets their decisions in a timely manner.

Should be interesting to see what happens from here. I am hopeful that this means that they actually realized that getting behind wasn't fair to anyone and that these transferred cases are going somewhere that they can get a higher priority.

Wow. I get antsy enough with the 10 hour flight there and 9 hour flight back. Can't image sitting much longer than I do already! You're probably used to it by now. I don't know the next time I'm going over, but it will most likely be next year. These flight prices (British Airways) are getting ridiculous for the fees and taxes they charge being more than the cost of the flight itself. I'm sure your prices aren't anything to be happy about either.

Well well. I just got off the phone with USCIS officer to understand the meaning of this email and text message. After collecting my information, he told me that according to his system my case is still showing vermont center so the text may either be wrong or his system may not be updated. But he said if the text is true then it may be a good thing because that means the cases are being sent to local office which will process them faster. So let us hope for the best very soon.
