Hi All.

This is my first time actually posting something here, you all seem like such a close family it makes me a feel like an intruder here. I just want to say that all of your help has been so wonderful over my journey. All of your words of encouragement and helpful hints, and even just your fun topics are so refreshing.

I do have a legitimate reason for coming to you all now. I have received my NOA2 in the mail yesterday, I received the email that it was coming on friday Nov 17, so I took these days to get the I-134 signed, the bank documents, and tax forms, and letter from employer prepared. Now, they are all ready to go. However, I am confused now where I will be sending this packet of papers. Do they just go to my fiance in Morocco? I was under the impression that I would be sending them to my government too. I am sorry if this seems like a silly question, but I just dont want to make any mistakes here.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Sherrie

Sherrie,

Please don't feel like an intruder. Yes, we have a rather close-knit group here, but there is always room for more!

Congrats on your NOA2. Once your petition reaches the Consulate in Casablanca, the consulate will schedule an interview for your husband and send him some papers, which is known as packet 3. Some consulates require paperwork to be sent to the consulate prior to the interview, but Casa is not one of them. Your fiance will bring to the interview all of the forms in packet 3 along with your I-134 and evidence of financial support which you've prepared(which BTW I've heard is no longer required by Casa, but will be good to bring regardless), and your proof of a valid relationship.

Be aware that Casablanca has a reputation of being a fairly tough consulate to get through. Be sure that your fiance is well prepared to answer questions about your relationship and has plenty of proof of the relationship (photos, etc.).

Best of luck to you and please don't hesitate to ask any questions. That's what we're all here for really!

Sherrie,

You send the package to your fiancee to take to the interview with him. I would also recommend sending him a complete copy of of the I129F submittal so he can see what they have in front of them and be sure he knows everything they know about you. From what my husband said many of the questions they asked came from there, so if he has it and can become familiar with it he will be much more prepared for the interview.

Good Luck!

Liz

Sherrie,

You might also want to check out this thread that Sarah started specifically to help those going through Casablanca:

You can send those things to your fiance, but chances are, Casa will not ask for them. I sent the i-134 along with tax receipts, a years worth of bankstatements, etc., and they weren't asked for. I also sent a copy of the entire i-129f, along with the NOAs, and those weren't asked for either.

The big thing is relationship proof. PICTURES, emails, phone bills, flight iteneraries, passport stamps, ring receipts, heck I even photocopied journal entries!

And start preparing him for the questions at the interview too. There are lots of threads around that give info about specific questions. I posted some in the one that another person mentioned (it's called CASABLANCA, and it was sarted by sarah of "sarah and hicham"

Good luck!

timeline doesn't matter.

You can bet that if you don't have them, that is when they will ask.

Definately read up about the questions asked in Casablanca. They are tough if you have red flags, best to be prepared.

Good luck with your journey.

BTW, Hassna was my husbands sisters name. She was killed in an auto accident several years ago with her fiance. When I convert to Islam that is the name he wants for me. He told me it means beautiful.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'
