Dear Congressman

I have be waiting for an approval for a 129-f fiance visa from the Vermont Service Center. We filed on 12/12/13.

It seems that capital hill is very concerned about helping the illegals in this country while that is an important separate issue, I am writing you to also in hopes that you can give some attention to those who are following the system to try to get loved one here legally. Even locally , here in ct, the local government is close to passing a law that allows undocumented aliens to get a driver's license but where is the attention and help from lawmakers regarding the backlog of visa's for taxpayers doing it the right way. I am a taxpayer trying to bring the love of my life here LEGALLY. WHERE is my voice to accomplish this in the 5 month process period that is listed officially by the government.

You are my voice. I am begging and asking you to help the many that are doing this the right way but are not getting the respect and answers we deserve to bring our fiance here in a timely fashion.

The system is broken and not treating us fairly. For the last 2 months, it was listed on the USCIS website that the processing time for Vermont Service Center was 5 months. That also happens to be the Goal. You can imagine how exciting it was for my fiance and I . It now has been almost 6 months for me and fiance who lives in Italy. I have been monitoring other approvals an a non governmental website and it is highly unfair how they are approving these petitions.

1) The California Service center is now approving petitions filed in February 2013. That is a 4 month turn around time! Their approvals are erratic as I understand some earlier filers are not approved. The Vermont service center , where my petition is, is now approving petitions that were filed in October of 2012!! VSC is 5 months behind the csc! Which means they are almost at an eight months processing time We were not informed of this until a few days ago. Again for almost 2 months, it listed that they were on-time. Why is there such a hug difference between centers??

2) USCIS says it takes petitions in the order that they are received. When looking upon VSC approvals they are VERY erratic and when emailing or chatting online with the approved couples that they did not fasttrack their petition. So why would some one in February be approved while MANY December filers are not.The process of getting married after our fiance is here is stressful because we only have 3 months to accomplish thus. For an event that should be happy and thrilling, stressful and nerve wracking.

I am asking that

1)Find out why there is such a huge gap between CSC ( California) and VSC (Vermont)

2)Improve the communication for us taxpayers, who are following the rules and

bringing the loves of our lives here legally. The USCIS, as hard as they are working, are not doing a good job in communicating the TRUE waiting time. TO say that they are on goal and then a few days ago show a 5 month lag time is not fair. That lag time did not happen over nite.

3)And perhaps give tools to the hard working gals and guys at the VSC so they can CATCH UP!

Thank you

Angelina Diana

Well done. Ours went in today, as well. Perhaps a little wordy (ours, not yours), but hey, it's there! kicking.gif

Dear Mr. Doggett,
My fiance and I, both hard working, college educated, law abiding citizens, are becoming increasing frustrated with the length of time it is taking for us to acquire her K1 Fiance Visa so she may come here from New Zealand to marry me. We filed our application on November 1, 2012, which the USCIS received on November 5, 2012, and are still waiting almost SEVEN MONTHS after filing just to receive approval from the Vermont Service Center so that she may file the next ream of paperwork with the Auckland Embassy. Both of us are semi-patient individuals, but seven months is a ridiculously long time to wait without hearing one single update or courtesy call, not to mention the emotional and financial stress this is placing on both of us as we live our lives apart or spend a small fortune going back and forth to see each other. We have dotted every I and crossed every T, and have heard nothing in all this time. Checking our now memorized receipt number every day on the USCIS website never yields anything but to show our application is still under review. The average wait time of 5 months is ridiculous enough, but many others in addition to us are also waiting several months outside of the average, while some are completed in 4 months and less, to hear something, anything, so we can come out of the stall pattern and just spend our life with the person we fell in love with. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to processing times. Is there anything you could please do to assist us? Thank you so much in advance for anything you may offer.
