If we investigate this IRS mess and leave in place the system that allows it to happen...shame on us! This occurs because our tax code has been written to ALLOW politicians to tamper with taxes. So guess what they do? Who is surprised? Raise your hand! Who thinks the Republicans will not tamper with tax policy? Raise your hand!

This is simple. It occurred because it can. There exists a tax on INCOME. There also exists exemptions from this tax for certain people that must be approved by political appointees. The people who did this should be imprisoned.

1. Eliminate all tax on income of any type

2. Implement a consumption tax on spending, the same rate for everyone

3. Eliminate the vast majority of the IRS

The AP "scandal"? I don't know. What I do know is that it has no legs.

When you pair the AP scandal with how the DoJ acted against James Rosen, the "scandal" part pales into insignificance. Because the press corps, as a whole, are suddenly wary of an administration they were "in bed with", as little as a month ago.

Right now, the GOP don't need to push too hard. The media have an appetite for payback and they will run with anything for the moment, just to remind the White House how much latitude they have been given over the past four years or more.

And Obama's repeated "defense" is "I had no idea about this, Iearned about it at the press conference..."

He is the first President to have press conferences to GET information.

Obama is failing miserably and his "constituents" are going to eat him alive. The Republicans can sit back and watch. And all in time for the mid-term elections. Summer recess is coming, Obama can expect some setbacks from SCOTUS soon and in the fall the politicians that need to be re-elected will be in full campaign "do-nothing" mode.

The number of Americans who view the Republican Party unfavorably has hit a record high, according to a new poll released by CNN on Monday, despite scandals that have plagued the White House over the past few weeks.

The poll found that 59 percent of respondents view the GOP unfavorably, a record that has only shown up one other time in the poll's results since tracking began in 1992.

The Republican Party's net favorability ratings are down 8 points in the past two months. The amount of respondents viewing the GOP favorably fell from 38 percent to 35 percent, while the number of people who view the party unfavorably climbed five points, up from 54 percent in March.
