It's always extra fun when it's our SO's first Thanksgiving in the US. :D

Yes it is! I can't wait to cook for Joel. Although it's not much different from the Canadian thanksgiving, it will be his first here with us. :)

You are soooooo cruisin' for a bruisin' young man. Actually we are both so messy that we've agreed to have maid come at least twice a month for the rest of our lives.

We were in luck and found a nice 14 ppund turkey at the Arabic meat market today! Hubby and I went away last year for Thanksgiving so this year we will be spending it with my parents, sisters, grandma and uncles. I'm so thrilled! I found agreat recipe for truffles so I will be making LOTS of those. Yummyy!

We are going to hubby's sister's house tomorrow.... His dad is making the turkey and I am making the potatoes and gravy and the dessert, chocolate trifle (a big hit back home in Canada)...

His sister can't cook  , last Thanksgiving (my first one in the US), she made fake potatoes from a box :P....

It is weird spending the holidays without my family, of course the Canadian Thanksgiving is in October (The second Monday of October).... My mom is a great cook.... I like Thanksgiving better in October, there is more of a break between Thanksgiving and Christmas then

Hubby might have to work Friday but only for a couple of hours... He is lucky to be on the day shift this year.... ... the evening shift, that he used to be on, has to work Thanksgiving from about 2pm till about 7pm... right over dinner

We are off to James sisters for Thanksgiving lunch. Granny and his Mom are at his uncles until tomorrow in Lake St Charles so it will only be us his sisters family, one other sister, kids and his sisters inlaws.

I baked a sponge cake and pavlova lastnight and was goig to take some sausage rolls but cant be bothered so will make some club sandwishes instead to nibble on. We got a 22lb Turkey but I dropped it off on Monday as I didnt want to cook it or have it defrosting here, there is or would be, no way to keep 2 cats and the dog from getting to it!

We are going to eat and run... so should be back home around 4ish...

Unfortunately, we moved cross-country last winter and can't afford to fly home twice in a month (we're going for Christmas) so we just had dinner here at home. It was scrumptious. We're both pescatarian, so here's what we had:
