Belfast US Consolate

Hi everyone!

So, this may be a silly question, but my fiance is living in Northern Ireland (UK) and wrote on his form that he would go to the US Consoluate in Belfast for his Interview. However, I can't find anywhere on here that recognizes the Belfast US consolate or anywhere on the USCIS website. They only seem to reference Dublin, Ireland. My question is two-fold. First, if we put down a consolate that doesnt do interviews, is that likely to hold up our application? Or would they be kind enough to just tell us that we need to use Dublin? Also, if he is living in the UK technically, but using his Irish passport for the visa, could he even go to Belfast if they did interviews there as it is a US consolate in the UK and not Ireland?

Thanks so much!!

Two things:

  1. The fact that you wrote Belfast on the petition form will not be an issue, the file will be routed to the appropriate destination.
  2. Since he is living in Northern Ireland which is a part of the UK, he will be interviewing at the US Embassy in London, not Dublin.

Ah, ok, thanks! I'm incredibly glad that it shouldn't hold things up at least. :) And flying to London for the interview won't be a problem at all. Appreciate the help!
