My husband recieved a registration letter in the mail yesterday for the MILITARY!!! and the surprising part is his name was spelt correctly, something USCIS cant seem to get right.

anyway has anyone else recieved one of these?? and if he dont sign it will it be a prob??

here is the info i got from the site www.sss.gov

QUICK FACTS AND FIGURES

Registration compliance (end of Sept 2005)

Men 18 to 25 years old who have registered: 95.8 percent. Men 20 to 25 years old who have registered (draft-eligible): 98.5 percent. Number of names and addresses on file for men 18 to 25 years old: About 13.5 million.

HE NEVER REGISTERED AND THEY HAVE HIM AS DOING SO.

Men are required to register for the draft as soon as they become a permanent resident. Nothing you can really do about it. Same thing happened to me when I was a PR and turned 18.

Wait, I just realized that your husband isn't a PR yet. In which case, I think what happens is that he automatically gets registered upon filing AOS.

I saw that on the paperwork you had to send to the embassy for the k visas. A part on the back on one of them that needed to be signed by males of the appropriate age.

2-28-2009 Sent in I-751

3-14-2009 Received I-751 back because they can't read

3-16-2009 Re-Sent I-751

3-17-2009 Received by Vermont

Waiting and watching the calendar flip ever so over closer to 4-2-2009 (When my 2 yr GC expires) . . .

4-2-2009 Received I-751 back AGAIN! Oh and my GC expired today.

4-3-2009 Re-Sent I-751

4-4-2009 Received by Vermont

Ok i obviously didnt read that on the paperwork :)

but i think its unfair, it should be up to the person to do the registering, not the government do it on their behave without them knowing.

my husband isnt upset by this, i was.
