How long will it take the docs from USCIS to reach NVC??

Hi All,

We got out approval of K1 visa on May 7 2013. Now we are waiting for the response from NVC. Actually we are in the third week of waiting. Bt in the VJ, its showing that many people got response within a week from NVC. Do we need to do anything? Whom we need to contact to get furhter details? Two day back, my fiance called NVC and USCIS, they said that it will take 3 weeks for the docs to reach NVC and for the response from NVC. Please help us on this...

Good deal - you received approval of the I-129F petition for Fiance - not the K-1 Visa but you are on your way! Was that a letter or email received from USCIS stating your petition was approved and sent to NVC on May 7? In our case it took 5 days to get the official letter from USCIS. National Visa Center is your contact in between USCIS and the Consulate now. Keep calling NVC for updates; they will assign a new case number for the petition that gets sent to the Consulate. It will have 3 letters like BMB for Mumbai and then other digits for tracking. If NVC doesn't have an update yet, it should be soon. When we called and finally got our new case # from NVC, it had already been sent forward to the Consulate. It was more than 3 weeks from notice of approval of petition to it being sent to Consulate. Of course, that varies from case to case but you should hear soon.

We know you are anxious as it has been 12 working days since notice of I-129F approval. Monday the 27th is holiday so that may push it back a few days, too.
