Sounds like the staff at CFO are getting very testy... to say the least.

Many of the documents they have asked for are so far over the edge and not normally asked for. They act like a pack of dogs at times, they see a "weak one" and all gain up on that one, for what reason I am not sure.

You have provided many more documents then they normally ask for and yet they ask for more after that... not sure why they have singled your fiancée out.

Proving singleness can be a ####### for someone never married, the tax return should be good enough for that as it shows your status when filing (make sure the SSN is blacked out)

what i've learned from the CFO people is they tend to ask questions again and again and they really need to be convinced with the answer. Everything that they will ask are based on what they've discussed. We just really need to pay attention.

I am also from zambales and its really tough travelling for hours and getting the pressure in the city plus the pressure inside the CFO building for the fiance and spousal application's questions . It feels like all you wanted to do is to finish everything and hope for a yes from them and leave and be with the man you love.

But that's not always the case. They knew people that are naive and very quiet. Seems like they wanted that person to talk because in case problems come in the future, she will know what to do also.

your fiance will go back there again and will be asked for the same or different kind of questions and papers...confidence and honesty are plus points.

You'll be together soon :)

Find out how organized your fiancée was during the process? Make sure she has all of her documents in order with tabs so she can easily reference. As others mentioned, get her the information on your state's marriage rules etc so she is covered. How was your fiancée dressed is another question that pops in my mind. Reason is they like business attire, nothing flashy... Make sure she blends in and is transparent to the interviewer and be confident. Keep in mind the CFO is a Philippine Law and not USA rule or guideline. She must pass their seminar first and jump through their hoops however they want... It all seems odd to me but hey. WELCOME TO THE PHILIPPINES lol.. Their rules that we all must play by.

Good luck

I have an idea.. Do they the CFO have record of her being there before? If so is it only in file and not computer?? Reason I ask is with the expense and BS you are going through would it be better to have her go to Cebu and go through it there? Airfare RT from Manila is about 100-150 USD without much notice. Or boat is about 20-25 dollars and takes a day. Just a thought.

Good luck again

Does ANYONE have any suggestions on what we should do? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. We don't want a denial for the fourth time.

There are other offices , besides that one, that do the CFO seminar.

I suggest she go elsewhere, a different office.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

agree.good.gif my wife had a similar problem with proof of singleness. she went to the seminar in Cebu. I had provided her with copies of my tax return and pay check stubs, but she forgot them in Davao. they were insistent thet needed them, but she pleaded her case since she left them in Davao. they said sorry, she would need to return with them. after she continued to insist that I was single, she was asked how do you really know? she told them " I've talked to his mother, she told me, we can call her. " after that , they dropped the issue.

What a horrible experience! My blood pressure raised just by reading your story. I'm not sure what to tell you but I hope everything works out fine. Please update us - my wife will be completing her CFO Seminar in Cebu and we don't want to go through the same thing.

God bless,

Justin

Those $&@&suckers, I'm pissed hearing this situation. What a damm crock!!! They went overboard I don't care what anyone else says. I suggest she keeps going until those idiots have seen enough.

Tell her to be tough, keep smiling and be persistant. It is so unfortunate this is part of the process and they extend their power. She can't quite, keep giving her positive reinforcement and she is almost stateside... Just be positive and have her address each queation/issue they come up with. Good luck

They knew people that are naive and very quiet. Seems like they wanted that person to talk because in case problems come in the future, she will know what to do also.

This has a lot to do with it. If the CFO personnel intimidate her and cause her to forget details or to shut down when questioned then, in the opinion of the CFO, she's not ready to emigrate. The one major thing the CFO wants to prepare women for especially is being able to find assistance from foreign government and law enforcement officials in case there is abuse at home (domestic, emotional, or financial). So if someone appears to be timid or afraid of being questioned the CFO will do their best to disqualify that person until they can show they are not unsure or afraid of authority figures.
