I know how you feel. I am a Nov filer and I cry almost everyday when I see people being approved that have filed after I have. I am happy for them but sad at the same time cray5ol.gif

Hopeless is a very fitting word so I suppose I feel that too but hopeful too that we will hear something soon. 7 months is fast approaching for me too and it is extremely depressing.cray5ol.gif

I hope yours will be coming soon!! Contact ur senator !

I contacted my congressman already. Now I think in contacting my senator too. This is just ridiculous while some people have been waiting past 6 months there are others being approved sooner. :/ I am not so happy but I'm trying to stay positive.

That is true!! They are all over the place, they always say they are processing October 1st filers but they are way past that date!! No one knows whats happening and its starting to get really depressing!!

Does contacting your local congressman and senator help at all? I see people posting about contacting them. I can't see how it would hurt but does it have any bearing on the application? smile.png

Most definitely. CSC stuck for months doing nothing until there was uproar and everyone contacted their senators, and that's when they kicked into action. It doesn't have any negative impact on your petition. There are also cases where the congressman's office has contacted USCIS so much that they give out the NOA2 so they stop calling.

Hope our file will be sent to CSC!!! we want to be together soon!!!!!!!!!!!

Be careful what you wish for. Although CSC is working at an extremely favorable pace, it was merely 6 weeks ago that people were saying the exact opposite and how they wished they'd gotten VSC. Both centers have their ups and downs, I feel it's best to just expect it and not let it depress you. There are ways to vent by writing to the service center and lobbying for faster approval times. I don't know if that's what got CSC rolling or not, but I know it made a whole lot of people feel better to get that weight off their shoulders even just a little bit.

Best of luck to everyone on this journey

There is only a perceived gap, in reality there are petitioners from CSC who are thoroughly frustrated as they wait from October/November and see 2013 cases being approved. It's really random and completely out of order over there. Seeing a few February filers doesn't mean that there aren't October filers waiting at CSC as well right now. The system is a complete mess, but CSC isn't as far ahead as they are perceived to be.

I know I've said this before, but CSC went through this for several months, and people stood up and mounted a campaign and eventually it started back up again, I recommend VSC people do the same. It absolutely cannot hurt your case and eventually they will get back to a reasonable pace again.

With all due respect, I think most of the information in this post is complete rubbish and I don't see the reason on your part for the constant white-knighting of CSC. Let's take a look at Igor's list.

csc_i129f_approvals.gifvsc_i129f_approvals.gif

October filers approved - 70% CSC/60-70% VSC

November filers approved - 60% CSC/ 40% VSC

December filers approved - 70-80% CSC / 10% VSC

January filers approved - 45% CSC / 5% VSC.

Yes, there are still SOME 2012 filers left at CSC. However, the rate at which CSC are pumping them out vastly outdoes VSC and a fair few have been RFE'd, and the backlog is in NO WAY similar to the one at VSC. Please DO NOT compare the backlog/speed of approval and try to say CSC is as bad as Vermont, otherwise you are seriously going to get some people's backs up on here. Igor's List does not seem to support your theory of "perceived gap".

Ali&Amani -- It's been 6 months on my end and the last time I checked the website using my receipt number I was still stuck on Initial Review. I miss my fiancé so much. Our next meeting was supposed to be the day of the interview but because this is taking so very long we decided to fly to St. Lucia to spend some time together. This is getting frustrating. I feel like my life is on hold. :(

Again, perception is reality for some people. I bad mouth CSC and you say I am white knighting them. For some reason, you think that saying CSC is worse than you perceive them to be is some sort of defense of CSC. I am just pointing out facts, which you back up with your latest post. There are still plenty of CSC people in OCT/NOV who are still waiting. Just becaus a few have come in February does not mean that is where CSC is realistically at right now. They are an utter mess right now. Would you be happier if VSC were throwing in random 2013 cases while OCT/NOV filers were still waiting for their NOA2? Is that what you want for VSC? I would think the goal is to get out factual information, and the facts are that CSC is not 4 months ahead of VSC no matter how messed up CSC's order is. YES CSC is ahead of VSC at the moment, as VSC was ahead of CSC in March. It's all quite random, but one has abosolutely NOTHING to do with the other.

Also, I'd like to add that if you pay ANY attention to the history of this forum, I said similar things to people who were complaining about CSC when VSC was ahead. They really have nothing to do with each other. Comparing the two is absolutely fruitless. Spend more time concentrating on dealing with problem head on instead of comparing apples to oranges and you may see some change. That's what people finally did at CSC before they kicked it into gear and it can't hurt VSC people to do the same. Trying to use some random handful of February filers from CSC getting approvals won't help you get approvals any faster at VSC and the only thing it actually does is attempt to make a bad situation SEEM worse than it already is. It does no good to anyone

Random 2013 cases? Almost HALF of January are approved. You are not bad mouthing CSC at all, you are being insensitive to the situation we are in and basically saying "Oh, it's not that bad". Well actually, yes, it is. The fact is, January are being approved now and some of February. Me, I am going to have to wait at LEAST another 2 months before I am able to see my fiance again. The point another member made to you in a separate topic - HOW can they NOT be related? They are two different service centers working under the same Government agency. They are not entirely separate entities, they both fall under the jurisdiction of the USCIS. We are not comparing apples and oranges, we are comparing two sides of the same coin. Different heads of a hydra. I work under one company that operates within five Area Service Centers across the country. We operate individually and the same all at once. We also transfer workload between offices and we transfer different branches of operations between offices to try and streamline our processes and to be able to deliver. This has also historically been the case with USCIS. They operate four service centers, and transfer workload between the four if necessary to balance workload and optimize their processing times. There are OBVIOUSLY going to be comparisons between CSC and VSC, as they are currently the two service centers which process I-129F petitions. If one is so obviously outprocessing the other, there are obviously going to be calls for a re-allocation of resources or an adjustment of priorities in VSC. To say that people SHOULDN'T compare is utterly ridiculous and stupid, in my honest opinion.

Also - Vermont has moved onto November while leaving a big portion of October behind, so please don't re-iterate the classically incorrect "Vermont is slow but fair" line. They are just as unfair, just slower.
