Oh, and for the record....every time Sian says "Jacket Potato", I imagine Mr. PotatoHead wearing a Tux....

What do you call it?

 I had to look up "jacket potato". It's a baked potato!

It's a baked potato. See, it's a potato.......and it's....baked.

LOL

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Baked potato! When in Rome.........
Rather like when Sian gets on MSN and says "Hi! You alright?" Which means pretty much exactly what you listed for "What's up?" Asking someone if they're alright implies that either they aren't, or they've done something that would suggest that maybe they aren't. lol

For months every time Tim ask me "are you alright", I thought maybe I sounded ill.

Hahaha - we've had those very same conversations...

Me: You alright?

Him: Of course I am... why wouldn't I be?

Him: Hey hon, what's up?

Me: (startled) Nothing, I'm fine... why?

Me: blah, blah, cooking a jacket potato, blah, blah...

Him: *snigger*... every time you say that, I imagine a potato dressed up in a tuxedo.

Ahh, and there was me thinking there was no language barrier... :D

In the UK, if one says "what's up?" to someone, it means "what's the matter?" (as in....you suspect that someone is ill, depressed, or somesuch). Here, it seems to mean "how are you doing?" or "what's happening?" (in your life) etc.

Just a little wrankle.......Neil.

Neil - You obviously do not have the right attitude for life in the US. You should go back to the UK.

Let me add to that the phrase "how you dooooin"...when I hear that I hear Joey (from Friends) saying that...and it just makes me laugh. I guess the person saying that wonders what the h*ll is so funny....
