Its okay. It was funny what you wrote. I assume it was an auto correct.

I thought about making a joke that Nature Boy hacked your account. He's got a sense of humor.

That would have been hilarious.

So i ask you what article and you quote the preamble.. REALLY ?? OMG oops8rh.gifoops8rh.gif

Hey, I started to search and said f#ck it...so you got the preamble.

Besides, what's the difference; no post is gonna convert any of you. You need an exorcism, not facts. :)

Here's a good read on all things internet. Good examples of its beginnings and of course, government funding all the way.

http://www.nathannewman.org/diss/chap2.html

It has been precisely the "big government" involvement in technology that has worked in symbiosis with entrepreneurial energy to create much of the technological and economic innovation of the last decades. By creating public domain systems and providing public domain technology, the federal government has helped avoid a world of purely proprietary technology dominated by monopolists that would have left little room for the entry of small startup companies or their associated innovation.

That's really a concise article on the subject.

Were u trying to make admin look good or bad by the thread?

Neither. Just looking for a little balance. You RWNJs fall all over yourselves opening thread after thread when a tiny portion of an overall very successful government program doesn't produce the desired result. But you folks are all silent when it produces positive results. So I posted this positive result. And you people still trip all over yourselves virtually hurting to identify something that you don't like about this success story. I get it, you hate success. You hate progress and you hate this country getting back into the game of leading. That's on you, I can't help you with that.

So really. what if they had sucked 50+ billion out of the economy, during a time when people were losing their homes and suffering, to fund big projects that failed?

Providing loan guarantees to business is sucking money out of the economy? Reading comprehension ain't the only thing you suck at, eh?

So now u can compare correctly internet speed is not a company either. Internet speed is based on your ISP service which is pvt company.

Govt did not invest in the fiber or dsl lines they were done by pvt companies but u cannot grasp that.

lol...you're a riot. You can't even acknowledge the things that came about because of government investment - things which you use and benefit from. Who indoctrinated you into the Ayn Randian cult? An American co-worker?

Here is a list of the failed or failing companies and how much it cost. Add it up.. It's Billions with a Big B. So where did that money come from ?? It appears your haughty presumed arrogance on my comprehension is a bit premature.

Perhaps we should have invested in man made dams like hoover. You really make this easy.

You posted one positive result. The mainstream Media has been wetting it's pants reporting it.

I gave you 30 that failed.. Government has a really sucking average, that would not last 10 seconds in the private sector.

You somehow admire Billions of wasted dollars to fat cat donors and cronies. Amazing.

More like "I'm gonna show this guy...wait, I don't even care."

I know...total break in message board etiquette. But sometimes you gotta say f#ck it and move on.

It's like convincing the birthers of the truth, at some point you have to say "It's too late, he's already the President...put a sock in it?" :)

Still it's hard to deny the capability of the government to provide technology, infrastructure, and regulations to create a spawning ground for private enterprise while helping itself. Highways and the internet helped commerce in the private sector on a massive scale. Plus the government now utilizes both to improve its overall functionality.
