Names on personal checks are incorrect

ello everyone smile.png



We are supposed to send our I-131/I-485 tomorrow, but now we have a little problem.



My husband and I ordered new checks for this matter, so that the check we send will have both of our names on it with correct address.



Finally after three weeks of waiting, the new check arrived, BUT!! the bank typed both of our name wrong.



(The bank account number is correct tho.)



What a ridiculous situation!!




So my question is



Will USCIS accept the check payment even the names are incorrect?



I'm sure if they deposit it will go through...




PS. I'm not consider money order at this moment cause I really want to send the package out tomorrow, and my husband is in WLC school now that he couldn't get anytime off to get anything done, I'm all on my own, so if the check still works, it'll be the easiest for me to handle.

Honestly they might not notice. Personally I wouldn't risk it.

I have seen people put stickers with a new address over the top of their check address for when they move, maybe make one with your correct name and address.

I think the best bet if money order is not ok is going to the back and getting a certified check, or if the bank does counter/temporary checks that will work also.

Completely does NOT matter. They don't care who pays it. Your neighbour could write the check, they wouldn't care.

Thanks! But we ended up getting a money order to pay and filed last Saturday! Fingers crossed! :)
