I have a long story but will spare details unless you need them. My husbands interview is May 30th. Stepsons case is currently being reviewed at NVC to expedite it to Montreal in time for husbands interview. My husband has had his medical done but stepson has not because we do not have a letter saying he can yet.

My question.....what will likely happen if case is expedited and sent straight to Montreal consulate and there is no time for stepsons medical? Will they be turned away at door or will they go through the whole process and get put in AP until stepsons medical is done and turned in? I am beyond stressed!! *sighs*

Generally they go ahead with the interview and then put it on hold until he has the medical sent in to them. Which unfortunately could add months to the process of getting the visa after because they are notoriously slow for dealing with items in their mail room.

If you have the NVC letter he should be able to get his medical done with that letter. Unless they changed it and are much more strict about it now.

We do not have a letter for my stepson to get the medical done. NVC informed me this morning that if expedite is approved, my stepsons file will go directly to the Montreal consulate and NVC will not be involved in anything, including payment of AOS, IV, and issuing a letter for medical. Oh gosh....I seriously hope a couple month wait is not in our future.

Hope so too, watch your mail like a hawk and if a letter arrives that has his case number on it try and use that to get the medical done asap. Even if they email you a confirmation/approval letter you might possibly be able to use that if you explain the situation.

I assume that montreal would issue you an email about WHEN the interview is. However, you could also ask to reschedule your husband's interview to allow for more time.

In my experience, if there's any way to reschedule the interview until after the stepson's medical is done, that is the way I would go.

I had issues with my medical last year and it was not complete at the time of my interview. The medical stuff was all dealt with and sent to Montreal in July -- it was the end of September before they finally issued my visa. A loooong wait, let me tell you.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck to you!

Do you have a case number for your son? His MTL number? I would bet that if you did the medical at Dr. Seiden's they would do it for you anyway. When I scheduled my medicals we didn't have our letters yet and was told that if we didn't have them I just needed to provide the case number. They needed to know the interview date. Now I did of course have my letter by the time I got to our medicals BUT... I am thinking that if you were to call them and tell them the situation, they might still do the medical. They want their $300!

Obviously I don't KNOW for sure but I feel that if you were to call Dr. Seiden's and escalate it if you have to in order to speak to the office manager (I can't remember her name, but if I figure it out I will let you know) they might help you out.

I would just call and see what they say. They might be able to help so at least the results are available in time for the interview.

I called the Medisys this morning because we finally just received stepsons case number. They said it takes 3 days for results possibly 2 for a child. So either way they would not be done in time for interview. But they said they could do it with a case number. Wish we had our case number last week. I'm sitting here feeling helpless....with nothing I can do to help things along.

OMG....OMG....the race is on!! My husband showed back up at home (we are on the home phone together 24/7 lol) and I told him what was going on.....long story short....I called back the clinic to see if it was possible to squeeze stepson in today for medical. At first it was a no...then I guess they could hear my stress and anxiety and came back with 11:30 was the only time they could do. My husband is now in a race against the clock to pick up son and get there in time. *hearts racing*
