Hi Everyone,

I tried to do a search on this but everything i can find is over 5 years old now. Things change, you know?

I live about 45 minutes away from Toronto. According to a lot of these old posts I'm reading the Toronto consulate does not handle K1 Visas meaning I'd have to travel to Montreal which is about 6 hours away.

However, on the Toronto Consulate's website there is a contact option for K1 Visas. I'm wondering if they do handle this now or if I should start budgeting for a mini-vacation to Montreal?

Any help would be appreciated :)

When I was in Orillia, Ontario, Canada back in February I had to do the interview in Montreal. That I know of Montreal and Vancouver are the only US Consulates in Canada that do K-1 visas. I would prepare for a mini vacation in Montreal.

Blessings

Consul in Toronto does not do visas. Only Montreal or Vancouver.

You can have your immigration medical done in Toronto though.

Thanks everyone :) that's what i thought would happen :( i've been hearing horror stories of their wait times! hypothetically speaking, if i WANTED to have my interview in Vancouver instead: 1) would that be a possibility 2) if so, do you think it would cut down the waiting time?

You would have to move to Vancouver or a province near Vancouver to be able to interview there. It would add to the wait time of you trying to move out there and then have your case re-routed to that consul.

When it comes up -

You might possibly be able to change your Montreal interview. If you book it and then watch the booking system a lot you could possibly grab a closer date when someone else cancels. Seen it done quite a lot. Book far away and then snag a really close date a few days later just because they were watching the date system.

The wait time for Montreal is not what it used to be. I got my interview date within about a month and a half and had my passport back in 3 days as have a lot of people if you look at the consulate reviews and peoples timelines...
