There's a reason there is so much more Islamic extremism among the native Muslim populations of Europe than in other parts of the world where Muslims are also a minority, like Canada or the US or South Africa. Every Muslim with an Internet connection has access to the oil-money funded Wahabi poison that is available online. But Muslims in certain parts of the world are more likely to be receptive to that message. Have you wondered why?

xenophobia?

xenophobia?

I think it's a combination of that and government policies that were never designed to encourage integration.

One more thing with Muslims in the UK which is much-discussed in "south asian" get togethers here in the US... is why is there so much more extremism among Pakistani-origin Muslims in the UK as compared to Indian or Bangladeshi-origin Muslims? What gives? I have not heard a good answer to that but I have spoken to enough desis from the UK who say that is the case to believe it is.

You don't have to say anything. If you did not have any communication with mods regarding my post, you would not be violating TOS by stating that you did not. Seeing you would be violating TOS by answering whether or not you reported it, then the only answer is yes. That's pretty lame AJ, you could've just sent me a pm. I'll keep in mind how thin skinned you are with my future posts.

I agree. Lame. It's usually the most prolific and one sided that report. You don't dare debate radical Islam with the PLO Jihadists. The will report you every time.

We are currently living on campus at a state university and I was surprised to see so many Muslim women here covered up almost completely. The university goes to great lengths to support diversity, which I believe is a good thing, but how am I as an American male, supposed to interact with these women? I say 'hi' when I walk past them and try to make eye contact, but I'm not even sure that's okay with them?

I saw a lot of that at Rutgers, too. I was friends with lots of Muslim kids and most of them spent the four years of college drifting in and out of piousness. I'm still friends with many of them and most of them are pretty integrated at this point. The campus environment draws attention to diversity in a way that often has the wrong effect - it tends to focus people more on how they're different than on how they're alike.

A few years of working in corporate America fixes that though.

And that's why it's so important to have an economy that creates lots of good jobs and allows for people to have the opportunity to work outside their communities around people they don't ordinarily see in their day to days. The US and Canada do a better job of that than Europe does.
