I'm not asking if I'm on the list, I'm asking if you reported that post.

I am one suspension away from a permanent ban, so I can not confirm or deny that.

The TOS says "any direct communication (with the exception of publicly viewable Posts on the discussion forums) between administrators or moderators and a member are strictly prohibited from being Posted to the discussion forums or retransmitted in any way."

I'll take that as a yes.

You? No. I do have my (short) list of members I enjoy reporting, but you are not one of them.

No No I did not mean you.

Does an admin contact you every time you've been reported? I did read through the pinned article under site related content but I don't recall and I just prefer to ax yous guys!

Wasn't there like a couple hours after the upgrade where people could see their history or warning level. Whatever it was.

Nope. There are several times I have seen warnings posted and no one is quite sure who got nuked or for what

Sorry, I misread your question.

The person being reported is usually only contacted if he/she is being suspended.

The report-button-hitter is responded to almost always by one mod, sometimes by the others.

I see. Thanks for the clarification.

I've hit the report button a few times so that I can get a mod to move a post to the right place. Like when someone posts a question about the Sydney consulate in the Thailand forum. Not sure if that's the proper use of it.

Ohh wait, I did report Nature boy for his constant spelling errors. Didn't seem to change aneethang.

Bawaaaa Typos and grammar bombs are not a violation of the TOS. If they were I would be serving a lifetime ban

Man, my mistake, I thought I entered a thread discussing a dead soldier and a terrorist attack, not people complaining about forum moderation for page after dull page.

As for the actual topic in question, considering these two men were clearly seeking attention and publicity (running up and down the street, the cameras, the 'interview', etc), the media really should try and starve them of that oxygen. It's the same with a lot of attacks, terrorist or otherwise - these unstable people see the amount of publicity given and want a piece of it. In this case it was more blatant, though. If the focus was shifted away from them personally the incentive to carry out these atrocities lessens significantly, but sadly I can't see it happening because it sells papers, gets bums on seats and the like. A tricky situation.

All I know for sure is there will be a backlash from the dumb and the ignorant, as is always the case.
