Help for questions in Ds230 part I and Ds156K

Hi there

So i am working on the forms needed for the interview and packet 3 to win time.

However i have big doubts on questions 29 and 31a of DS230 part I and question 5 of DS156K. They both ask to list children and if they come with you to the US.

My son will of course follow me to the US but he is a US citizen born in the USA (i had him with my fiance) so he is not being petitioned for the K1 as his passport will simply be enough to enter the US. So do i list him in these questions? Because if so i ll need his birth certificate (he has one from USA and one from france when i got him his french citizenship) and i don't understand the point since he is US citizen with a US passport so why would they need his BC as he is not applying for the visa?

Maybe you can list your son because he is coming with you anyways but make a separate statement informing them that he is already USC and explainign the situation.

Anyways If I was you, I would call uscis customer servive to get better and accurate answer. Hope others VJers can give you more help.

It is all children, it doesn't matter if they are going with you or not and it also does not matter what their nationality is. Include his US birth cert.

Ok thanks everyone. Do you think USCIS will be able to give me accurate answer on that now that my case is gone from their offices? Where do i go on the menu to ask general information questions?

Well if i was in the US i could get his US Birth certificate but i can't, they are so funny at the consulate ! Only my fiance can go there to get it but he works mondays through fridays from 8 to 5 ! So french birth certificate it will be, it is written on there that he was born in the US so they'll understand that he is american if they know how to read. I cannot provide them things from the US since i can't even use the VWP anymore to go there so screw them... We are already struggling enough to get the important things for the visa application from him in the little free time he has (thanks god many things can be ordered from the internet)
