Hello Vjers, I needed urgent help from anybody with experience in this situation. I received RFE for my AOS application few days ago regarding my affidavit of support. My sponsor doesnt make enough to support our household and I needed a co sponsor . A friend of mine agreed to help but he's a permanent resident card holder and just got an extension for his 2 years card. He made enough to sponsor me, but my question is can a permanet resident card holder sponsor someone or only US citizen is allowed? Please I need an answer to this . Thanks.

A green card holder can petition for the same reason we are, so would not see why they would not be able to co-sponsor as well.

Someone else asked a similar question here:

Every question you can imagine has probably been asked in one way or another on here.

both can co-sponsor you. as long that u include his/her proof of immigration status (i.e passport, greencard)

also, submit his W2, tax return or anything that will support that he made enough to co-sponsor you.

goodluck!!!

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

Yes, a joint sponsor can be a USC or LPR. Along with their financial documentation and I-864, they need to provide proof of being an LPR with a front and back copy of their green card. I would also have them include a copy of their 1 year extension letter.
