for timeticks, for you - i have the following suggestions:

1. opt in.

2. wait for gzo # and then

3. login to payment portal with gzo and iin

4. review new coversheets for IV and AOS. If accurate, and contain the GZO #, go to step 5. If not accurate (showing GUZ #), wait a day or two.

5. prep an AOS Set, add the coversheet with gzo #, email off

6. prep an IV Set, add the coversheet with gzo #, email off .

then wait about 8 days for case complete and final review. Interview email will arrive 1 to 5 days after.

5 and 6 can be done same day, just make sure is seperate emails.

you can prep now on 5 and 6, also, but send off that opt in email now.

it is possible to do all of this.

you have scans of the civil documents, the white books? IMO, that's the hardest bit to keep in hand.

The rest of it is easy on the DS-230 and I-864, to scan and send off.

I have talked 4 folk through 'rehoming' to EP for guangzhou AFTER case complete here at VJ, so yes, I know it's possible. You have to tell NVC to hold the paper file, immediately, though.

The cool thing, is that you don't have to re-pay. That'll shave some time.

in the end, the original white books have to be presented on interview day - so get a new set generating in China right after the OPT IN acceptance email comes in, and leave them in China for the beneficiary to hand carry on interview day. My OPT IN acceptance email looks like this -> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/429728-my-nvc-electronic-processing-road/#entry6228361

Darnell, Are you saying that I will need to get another original of my civil documents again before the interview for the Electronic Processing? If that's the case, it might be difficult for my mother at this time. It took her about two months to get those civil documents in China, even she requests for expedited services, it will still be another 3 weeks. At this point, I am very disappointed at my lawyer. I am going to ask him if he knows about the EP. Thank you so much for all of your input!!!!!

you don't need originals for ep into NVC,

however, you need something. if you have full copies, paper copies, then is easy to scan those using a computer.

in the end, on interview day, she has to show the original white books.

so - rethinking this, paper vs ep, for you at this stage -

is it 2 or 3 more months till interview on the paper case?

then is it 2 or 3 more months till interview on the EP case?

think a bit, before you take the plunge.

I just checked the status online. My case is in transit to Consular. Yay!! Hopefully not too long until the interview date.

Darnell, I decided not to going to do the EP. I guess I will just have to wait for the appointment letter. 2 - 4 months. Hopefully my mother will be here before my son's 1st birthday in August. wink.png

My attorney never responded to my question about the EP.
