Interview date but no EAD

Hello!

I got the notice for interview for the AOS (having filled March 19), for June 26 in Denver, CO. However, I am concerned that we've not received notification or the EAD itself just yet.

Two problems here;

- 1. I have work lined up, which I would like to start!

- 2. I would like to get the SSN so we can start to further integrate our finances.

Any thoughts?

Hi Phil, this is actually typical, infact some peoples ead arrive after the interview is done! Not saying this is ur case so hang in there.

It is said that Uscis is aware that newly married/couples without the immigrant's ssn may not be able to provide a lot of evidence of financial co-mingling, so bring what u can, get affidavits from friends and family etc. and lots of pictures. Gd luck at the interview and do post ur experience

i dont think u have any choice than to wait for your EAD. as per the interview, take everything u have with u and rehearse all sample questions they usually ask . where and when did u meet. who and who is in the pictures, work phone numbers, employment, and they ask to see the door key to the house.

Oh I know I need to wait for the EAD, my concern is the wife is actually away on training for most of June which may cause us some hassle in being able to integrate.

Just to precise, but if you get your green card, your EAD will be void as the GC is a work authorization in itself. Sometimes it's like that, the interview is scheduled very quickly so the EAD doesn't have enough time to be approved.

You may try to expedite your EAD by scheduling an InfoPass appointment. Have proof that you have a job offer, it should help.

You're lucky. A lot of people have to wait months and months for their interviews. You got one quickly and this your EAD has not arrived. EAD typically takes 0-90 days so you should recieve it before your interview but if you are approved for AOS it will become null and void. Sit tight, many have and will wait longer than you for both.
