Just got off the phone with a rep at the VSC. Apparently they are now just getting to petitions filed in October 2012. My app was received in January. Its frustrating to think that I will have to wait so long now. They had their estimates on the USCIS site as 5 months which is wrong. Just letting you guys know. Good news for you October filers though. Good luck everyone.

Don't pay too much attention to what they say. If you called about CSC they would still say July 18th, since neither has updated their processing times since April 3rd.

Edit - Never mind they just updated it a few minutes ago. headbonk.gif

Tell me about it...i called USCIS today too and a tier2 told me the same thing. I am a late october filer and i was so hoping to receive my NOA2 by March or April, long story short it's now the end of May and their answer was to wait 25 days more ClockWatch2.gif ...So frustraiting!!! The good news is that he said everything on my case looked fine so hopefully that translates to zero RFE.

Good Luck!!

As a February Vermont filer this news makes me sad...crying.gif

I see now how people contact their gov't representatives. We pay 340, we should get prompt service!!

IMy NOA1 is dated Dec 7th at the VSC. I called them and was told it will be 2 more months. Obvioulsy this isn't an exact answer because there are people on this forum that are dated in November and are getting their NOA2. Also when I spoke with my attorney he was receiving approvals in November as well. So it appears they are averaging cases in October but are working ahead of that too in some cases.

  • 1 month later...

I wish you all the best of luck, and hope that you don't get the same incompetent case worker that we did. My fiance is trying to come here from Germany so we can get married. The USCIS received all of our paperwork back on October 15th. In April, they finally got around to our case. We were informed that they needed more evidence, but would not tell myself or my lawyer what that evidence was. A month later we received the RFE in the mail, and it turns out that they just needed two more passport style photos from each of us (which is odd because we sent in every photo that was required, so I assume they lost them). So we got them to my lawyer, and they were mailed off the next day. June 5th they update the status on the website to "Request for Evidence Response Review" meaning they're going over our "new evidence". Now almost a month later, the status still hasn't changed. Not sure why it takes a month to look at two photos. We are now well over 90 days past our processing time! Even if by some miracle, it gets pushed through soon, we still have 25 days to wait with the visa office, and another 65 for the embassy in Germany. That means, everything that we've paid lots of money for (her doctors exam, police records, ect) will be expired by the time she gets her embassy appointment. So we have to pay all of that again! I have sent very heartfelt letters to both of my state senators, the governor, and our congressman with little or no response. If nothing changes in the next few days, I am going to give my lawyer the go ahead to file a writ of mandamus. We have no other option at this point. The complete laziness of these people is enraging. Especially when you consider that I'm paying their salary out of my pocket! The last time I saw my fiance (besides on skype) was back in March, and now it looks as though I won't see her again until October or November if we're lucky. Neither one of us makes a lot of money, so we can't afford to keep buying $1,300 plane tickets to visit each other. The fact that they expect two people, that love each other so much, to be apart for 6 months to a year is just insane!

I'll update this if we get any news at all.

We filed just 2 weeks after you and haven't heard a single word. Not even an RFE. Waiting on an E-Request presently after having contacted anyone and everyone we can think of. Our savings are depleted as we've poured more money into Air New Zealand than the GNP of some third world nations. And still ... nothing from VSC. And there's no way of even knowing if someone has even looked at our file yet. So yeah, we completely empathize with you...

Sorry, I was distracted and included the following response into your quote:

Sincere congrats! I'm always extra thrilled when someone who has been waiting as long as we have gets approved, although understandably annoyed that we still have not, lol. Good luck with the rest of the process! We'll continue towing the line here... ;)

July 18th we received word from our lawyer that the NVC has finished processing and sent the packet off to Frankfurt. The embassy info on here says that after the embassy receives it, we have anywhere from 10 days to a month for the interview...so with any luck, we will finally be together in a month or so. good.gif
