Good Morning! Happy Tuesday!

We got our Hard Copy RFE back, and it is asking for more proof that we have seen each other in the past 2 years. It gives examples such as airline tickets, stamps in passport etc. Me and my Fiance live 300 miles apart from each other. we see each other every weekend, but drive it. When we cross over the border, we do not get a stamp in our passports as we are not flying. Both him and I have printed off our bank statements for the past 2 years.. and have highlighted all purchases made, him in Canada and me in the USA. We also attached a letter explaining that we life only 300 miles apart and drive back and forth, along with a mapquest showing the route we take. Do you guys think this will be sufficient?

Also: in our original package we included pictures of us with dates on the back.

Let me know!

Anyone can print a Mapquest route so that will carry zero weight. I will suggest this, do you have any receipts from any purchases made while you we're together during the weekends you spent together?

Here's the sorts of things I used and am going to use in the interview (even though I do have passport stamps and airline tickets etc):

- Letters and packages sent to each other in the mail (the stamps and stickers on the packages are dated by the mail offices)

- Photographs

- Bank statements showing debit card activity in Pittsburgh where my fiance lives

- Cinema tickets from our dates (they might not be useful but who knows)

- Cards from friends and family (birthday cards etc) (My fiance's family gave me leaving cards when I left America the first time)

Is there anyway you can get your car mileage officially stated? Or is there something inside your car that shows the mileage that you could take a picture of? (I don't drive so I have no idea what I'm talking about biggrin.png )

Just a few ideas, hope it helps even if just a wee bit wink.png

**** Oh and by mileage I mean how many miles you have driven... No idea if I even used the right word... Really need to have driving lessons.... no0pb.gif

I believe you are referring to an odometer. A picture of an odometer would also carry zero weight because it doesn't show that a person drove from point A to point B and back; it only shows total miles driven.

How about if the two of them take photos together in each borders, one in the US and also one in Canada?

good.gif You mentioned in your first post that you highlighted the purchases from your time together on those statements; while I can't guarantee it will be sufficient, it is good evidence.

NO, you need better evidence. It should be easy to purposefully generate evidence but you needed to have that prior to the filing.

If you have nothing, then you may have to withdraw the petition, generate the evidence and then re-file (with new fee attached).

What can you suggest for better evidence?

We did pictures with dates

passport all pages (no stamps because we didn't fly)

bank statements from both him and i.. many of them showing multiple purchases per month.

some cards

Your bank statements showing purchases in Canada are JUST FINE.

I don't know what this other nonsense is about.

You can prove with those statements that Person American was in Country Canada buying stuff. Proof you were there. Done.

You didn't send this with your initial packet, did you?

Send it now; it's all set. Opera tickets don't have names on them anyway :S

it doesn't need to match. They just need to show that one was in the other's country. That's all. That's all a passport stamp shows, that someone was in the the other's country.
