Thus far only a court has ruled that a child may purchase the morning after pill w/o parental consent. The administration is actually pushing back against that. And again, the morning after pill is not a matter of belief, it's a matter of medicine and science. To claim that one's belief dictate whether the morning after pill causes abortions or not is what's extreme. It's also extremely ignorant.

Yes it is, but it is a persons right to be ignorant in support of their religious beliefs or lack of,whatever the case might be. The point is that just because you disagree with something does not give you the right to impose it on someone else.

I have said a million times, you far left nut jobs and the far right nut jobs have the same issue. You only support the rights you find appealing and the hell with the rest of them.

Example- I think one man marrying 4 women is just plain loony. I do however support the right of consenting adults entering into what ever kind of relationship they wish. So I support it.

You can't understand why anyone would want to own an AR-15. It's loony to you. Your idea. Ban and confiscate them.

I'm not imposing anything on anyone. A fact is still a fact, though. Look, I don't impose gravity on you and yet it still applies to you. I don't impose on you that 1+1=2. And yet, that equation stands whether you want to believe it or not. Facts don't need your consent. They are facts all on their own. As they say, you're entitled to your own opinion but not to your own facts.

I'd just really like to hear what radicalism comes out of the Democratic Party. Really.

Ok here is the Dem Platform on Abortion... Sounds good right However. I love that long passionate plea about it being a intensely personal choice etc etc, but of course if she can't pay then the tax payers need to step in or her employer, despite his/her beliefs nedds to foot the tab.

That is my problem with them. They are forcing others to support something . Yes legal abortion. I support. Don't deny it. The Dems want everything to be a hand out.

I could find just as much hypocrisy in the Pub platform I assure you.

...Protecting A Woman's Right to Choose. The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay. We oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right. Abortion is an intensely personal decision between a woman, her family, her doctor, and her clergy; there is no place for politicians or government to get in the way. We also recognize that health care and education help reduce the number of unintended pregnancies and thereby also reduce the need for abortions. We strongly and unequivocally support a woman's decision to have a child by providing affordable health care and ensuring the availability of and access to programs that help women during pregnancy and after the birth of a child, including caring adoption programs.

There is no support of abortion in the platform - only the support for a woman's right to make that choice. The Democratic Party supports access to health care regardless of the ability to pay which would naturally extend to a procedure to terminate a pregnancy. Notice as well that the same part of the platform supports helping women that decide to have the baby with health care and other related needs. I don't know why that is such a big deal. Health care should be between a person and that person's physician. Period. Neither the government nor employers ought to be in any position where they get to select what health care services a person can or cannot receive. It's just not the employers choice to make. Most employers know and respect this. There is the lunatic fringe, however....

If any modern Republican politician were to say any of those things, he'd be labelled a rhino and would never get elected/re-elected. Christie is about as close as it gets and even he isn't anywhere near those traditional party ideals.

If any Democrat were to embrace the policies of Woodrow Wilson they would be labelled a racist, and rightly so. If any Democrats were to embrace the policies of FDR, they would be labelled a Communist, and rightly so.

Make her have the child. Ye, that's a better choice, then we can spend how much on support over the next 18 years? Then when the unwanted child finds its way into the penal system, tack on another few hundred grand. Ala Charles Manson? So what's cheaper?

Not every unwanted child turns out like that, but the numbers don't lie. Mother's forced to have unwanted children produce more strains on the system than wanted births.

To me its being pragmatic, not some pie in the sky liberal agenda.

It's all part of the plan. More single mother children means more population for the prison industry and thus bigger returns on the investment into that industry. And then you also get to imprison the women that went and had a back-alley abortion. More inmates = bigger dividends. It all works out beautifully.

In a strange and twisted eugenics like way you are absolutely right.

We are the "freest Country in the World" dang it; with the highest number of incarcerated...wait, how does that work?

I did not say I did not support the right of choice for women. I said making others pay for it is wrong. I am pro-choice.

Well, like the transmission commercial use to say, "you can pay me now or you can pay me later."

Nobody likes paying, but sometimes its better than ignoring there's a greater cost for not paying up front.

It was stated above that inmates do fund an entire industry. Unfortunately very few prisons generate income from inmate labor anymore. BTW...Apple!...where are you on this? Doesn't iPrison have a ring to it?

Here is a novel idea. How about we quite rewarding generation after generation of Govt funded Brood Humans to spat out child after child, from an early age.

I agree totally...but the rub is how to do that? I don't have an answer for that one.
