We got our NOA2 may 13.my fiance called NVC yesterday n he was told our case has been received may 21 dat our case will b sent to nigeria in 5days.we hope to hear good news by this time nxt wk....

Well, the USCIS notified me last night that they have RE-opened my case there. so much for sending it on i guess.

Ah, another informative response by the USCIS... why would that happen???

Im sure my file is in a trash can somewhere....... This is so unfair... Some people go in and out of NVC within a week, and others just...... "We haven't received your file........"..... Ok, this is now day 9 since NOA2....

they won't do anything until 15 business days after NOA2...then you can send an email to nvc research, and wait another 2 weeks after that. The uscis won't do anything until it's been 30 days since NOA2, and then they will send an email to your service center, and you will get a mail response in a couple of weeks.

In other words, don't hold your breath.

So I called USCIS to find out what's going on, waited 45 minutes to talk to a tier 2. She tells me "I don't even see in our end that the case has been reopened yet." when I asked what can cause that she said "sometimes they will reopen if they feel they made the wrong decision or if they did things in the wrong order or forgot to do something, there's steps they have to go by before they can actualy approve it. But if you don't get that notice we sent out in 30 days we can file a service request and find out what's going on" GRRRRRRRRRR I'm back to square 1!!!

I feel for you...and even if they file the service request, it can be up to two weeks before you get a response.​ I hate that I'm speaking from experience. This is something I'd rather be blissfully ignorant of.

Maybe something wasn't done right and that's why the NVC hasn't received your petition. Hopefully they're just fixing whatever they screwed up and they'll send it right away to the NVC. I swear, the USCIS is the epitome of a poorly run government agency.

Hey guys im confused a bit! I should wait 15 business days til i call nvc right? Is saturday a business day? Is sunday?

They wont contact us when they recieve our case huh? We have to contact them huh?
