You too, It's gotta be even harder waiting with your baby waiting as well.

yep. Already missed learning to crawl and learning to walk. Most likely will miss learning to talk. I selfishly wish USCIS and DOS would take a little citizen kid into consideration, but I get why they might not want to open that door.

That's the problem with any policy. if there is a way to exploit it, people will, but then honest situations that should be taken under consideration aren't, and those people suffer for it.

As we've both worked in Gov't, I'm sure you understand...

It seems many of the times I call NVC, I get this same B*#ch that says 'read the first few lines on your letter, It says wait 90 days before calling doesn't it?' No you idiot it actually says it was forwarded on to our listed consulate. Seriously how stupid are these people and how can they be employed in a job they know nothing about? Then after calling USCIS to check where my file is I am told there is no such thing as a Teir 2!? Then that all files are forwarded to NVC and that my file would have been fowarded to NVC along with every other file. Then the NVC call center person says that files don't go to NVC they go straight to the consulate!? What amazing incompetence!

Have you tried contacting the consulate? I have heard of USCIS sending petitions to the consulate rather than the NVC.

Have you tried contacting the consulate? I have heard of USCIS sending petitions to the consulate rather than the NVC.

The consulate need a case number, which is allocated by the NVC. USCIS maintain all files go through NVC. The letter stating your approved petition has been sent to the listed consulate is just a generic letter. There is just overwhelming incompetence when dealing with the departments, that no body actually understands their own processes. But yeah consulate also said every file goes through the NVC and they are the ones to be contacted.

After waiting for three months since my approval and finishing my ten day vacation i got an email from USCIS that they have finally sent my petition to the national visa center on Friday. The funny thing is that i got an email from NVC today saying that they could not locate my file. I guess this may be due o USCIS finally sending it out so i guess we will see and i hope NVC gets it very soon now.

We got our approval! On to the next step! So I know it goes to NVS first then to the consulate. I hope it's speedy! For everyone of course. Not just us! They got back to us in 4 business days. I hope that's a good sign for everyone. Yay for things (although sometimes at a snail's crawl) moving ahead! I have a hard time being patient but I do know I was very lucky so far. I pray for you guys daily! It can only get closer from here!

I noticed that my CEAC status (ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx) changed today from "at NVC" to "IN TRANSIT" so I called NVC to verify, and sure enough, it's being mailed out today! Great news, and hopefully the DHL tracking stuff will work once it's in the DHL database tomorrow. I think I can check out of this thread soon, not seeing any hiccups from here on out, crossed fingers!

I really send my best wishes and hopes for those of you having problems with NVC, good luck and speedy journeys!

How do you find out about the DHL tracking number? I have only visited the state department check status website that says current file is "in transit", after I called and received the case # a few days ago

It's a little confusing to track via DHL, but it's doable. (I got this from the embassies forum, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/302190-dhl-tracking-from-nvc-to-us-embassy/ .)

- go to http://www.dhl.com/en/express/tracking/shippers_reference.html

- enter EXP 04 JUN 2013A or EXP 05 JUN 2013A or whatever date you think it left (and in some rare cases, change it to B instead of A) as the shipper's reference

- play with the date range (it seems picky, you need to put in the date it might have left up to the present day)

- then if you want to filter by your country, you can, or leave it blank to see a sample of ALL the cases that left that day

You can see that they send out a lot of cases, each day. But generally only one for each country.

Yours and mine PROBABLY left NVC the same day, meaning it won't show in the tracking database yet. You can search 04 JUN today, but 05 JUN isn't available yet until after 3 p.m. EST tomorrow (6th). I'm hoping to see a Finland one in there for 05 JUN tomorrow when I check. smile.png
