When my fiancee received her packet 3 from Montreal, the checklist asked her to schedule her medical and have it complete before arriving at the interview. We are still waiting for the packet 4 with the letter stating when the interview is scheduled, but the medical is complete and the results have been couriered back to her. The Dr. in Halifax did not ask for a letter confirming an interview date.

I was able to book my medical in Vancouver without an interview letter. Maybe it varies from province to province. But if you are in Vancouver, you will get instructions in packet 3 telling you to call and book your appointment. They did not ask to see an interview letter.

The RCMP office however, wanted to see something, like the letter from Packet 3, before doing the police check for me. It only took 15 minutes though!

I had my medical without packet 4. However, I did need packet 3 and the case #. They wouldn't release the results until the official packet 4 arrives, i just have to fax it over and can go pick up the "envelop". I think every physician works differently.
