Do you think there certain events/circumstances in your petition that may "accelerate" the waiting time preceeding NOA2? For example, if your fiance has already been to the US on another Visa. Just curious what you all think. Thanks in advance.

Um....no. I assume you mean expediting the visa? The only reason I've seen for that to happen is when the USC is going to be deployed, as in he/she is in the military. Having been to the US on another visa isn't reason for "accelerating" the visa. Best of luck on the journey. :)

The only circumstances under which USCIS may consider expediting an I-129F application are:

All expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and are granted at the discretion of the Service Center Director. The criteria are as follows:

Severe financial loss to company or individual.

Extreme emergent situation

Humanitarian situation.

Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States.

Department of Defense or National Interest Situation

USCIS error.

Compelling interest of USCIS.

Having been in the US on another type of visa has no impact on how fast the processing of the petition goes. I wouldn't be concerned since you're going through VSC - you'll be months ago ahead of CSC filers.

Unfortunately, like the previos poster states, there is no way to speed the process up. You'll just have to wait like the rest of us.

You are going thru Vermont, though, so you will most likely get your approval fairly quickly.

Good luck and best wishes.

Because of the example he gave, I think the OP really wants to know if there are any people who get special treatment without asking. I think the fiances of military people on active duty might get faster processing, but I'm not sure. Other than that, nobody gets special treatment for any reason, no.

I'm an active duty military service member stationed overseas and no faster processing for me!! (At least I don't think so). I think it only applies if the service member is currently deployed or pending deployment.

Thanks for the replies. Actually, I'm not expecting any faster processing of my application. I was just asking for comments on the topic. Also, just out of curiosity, if you did want to request expedited processing, is there a separate form/process aside from the standard I-129F? If I recall, I did not see any questions or places to make the request. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

If you meet one of the criteria listed above you can follow these instructions:

http://149.101.23.2/graphics/fieldoffices/...ont/aboutus.htm

Expedite requests:

Individuals who are seeking expeditious handling can FAX the Center at (802) 527-4816 to request that a case be expedited. The fax line is available 24 hours a day. Expedite requests are reviewed Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:00 PM.

The VSC will also accept expedite requests through written correspondence.

A letter requesting that a case be expedited along with any supporting information should be mailed to the VSC. The envelope must be marked with "EXPEDITE REQUEST".

Please mail expedite request to:

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Vermont Service Center

ATTN: Expedite Request

75 Lower Welden Street

St. Albans, VT 05479

A detailed explanation of the situation should be provided in a support letter, and any documentation needed to support the expedite request should also be submitted. Applicants should not submit more than 5 pages of material.

Cases that are not clearly approvable will not be expedited. Requests to expedite petitions or applications that are incomplete will not be granted. There is no appeal of the denial of an expedite request. Please see our USCIS Expedited Criteria guidance.
